Well, it has been some time since i last wrotte anything here, and i have seen a lot of stuff i thought it wopuld be nice to share with... the internet? who knows, really?, perhaps i just wanted to writte something, and ill do it again. For me it has been some hectic times as of late, and ill take my time and detail them in the most emo way posible, really!, ill even bring on some glitter and fake blood so we get all into the emovampire mood... ok no!, that wont happen!, glitter is just not my thing!... im not bishie enough... *sigh*....

since the announcements of monster hunter tri and monster hunter tri for the psp, i got all excited and got me my copy of the monster hunter freedom 2 for my good ol psp.

But as most of you good MH fans should know, this is just not the best game to be in a good mood, in fact, if you are trying to have a dandy day with no problems or issues with life, i would highly sugest you not to play it, at all, never.

Thats right, as adorable as the idea of stabing a dragon with a sword the size of your own body is, you must take in mind that then again, its a freacking dragon, it wont take 1 or 2 hits and die peacefully (or if you are "lucky" enough to fight one of the rock types, you will rather break 3 swords before you start chipping its armor), there is a reason why every mission gives you 30 to 50 minutes, its because thats roughly the time it will take you to start damaging a dragon armor with your human weapons (and your puny human powers lol).

Now, dont take me wrong, i looove this game, but since i have been as of late, trying to draw a little, i find it much better for my drawing results to draw while im happy, cheerful or just not in the mood to freacking toss my psp against a wall and see it break into a million pieces and laugh maniatically, yeah... no, its not too much of an overreaction, as any MH player, you can see a graph showing just how much curses and swearing was added into their life once they started playing monster hunter, this is something i somehow forgot, the cursing and swearing, lots of it, LOTS, just ask your friends, mention "gravios" and you will see the sparkle of rage and feel what that dam "killing intent" they mention in mangas feels like.

FFXI for casuals (at long last!)

For anyone who has been into ffxi, you all know that this game was never oriented for casual gamers, in about 2 hours of game you could have your level 1 war hit level 6, and that would be about it, every event, mission, quest or anything relatively funny would consume great amounts of time, this because you'd have to log on, prepare your character, ask around for help as theres relatively very few things worth your time that you can do alone, once you got the help, you'd have to wait about 30 minutes to 2 hours for everyone to get ready and at this point, well pretty much half the day has passed by, but hey, you can already go and finish that mission or w/e right? (yeah pretty much sucks).

But!, now we got something rather interesting, we got the trials of the magians, lots of new weapons, that are relatively good, personally i would say they can be 3rd best of their kind, and hey, they are not that hard to get, in fact you can for first time since the game was made, you can accomplish something while playing in a rather casual manner!

Ok im really axcited by this for all the wrong reasons now lol, you see, having your favorite game to be able to hook you up in both hardcore gaming or casual gaming is a really awesome thing, or at least thats my line of thought in this subject.

I dunno about most of you guys out there but i like my games to be able to entertain me, a game that bring fun, comradership, good moments is great, but if you do all this with a tight schedule, 6-7 days a week, following a set of rules defined by your fellow players it just kinda kills the fun in it you know (also, online drama will come, trust me on this).

So yeah, being able to work on weapons that are relatively good, being able to do it in your own time and within 1-2 hours do a real significant improomenet on each stage of the weapon, is pretty much a great advance to the game the way i see it.

Also on a side note, i have found that is actually pretty fun to do this, i started complaining about the idea of the weapons (then again, i dont think theres nothing i havent complained about before), but after a couple of runs to get some monsters killed i found that there are always other players hunting for the same monsters and are on the same trial than you, and of course are willing to help, this is very fun, i got to meet lots of people in the last couple weeks and had a great time even when all we were doing was staring a beetles and waiting for a breeze of wind come and lift a lil of the sand under our feet. (there were light breezes in the desert but we played dumb and pretended they were sandstorms regardless).

Now if anyone ever followed my blog (please send a message i want to know im not crazy and talking to myself... well at least not totally crazy), will notice that i havent wrote that much in last days, this would be because i have been doing magian weapons as well as kinda busy with my DA account, i might post some of my works here, just for the fun and giggles, we will see.

Metal Gear & Monster Hunter

oh boy, Its freacking ON!!!!

On april 6th Capcom and Konami made the announcement of a big cross over game that ahs nothing to do with reality at all anymore, but it will pretty much kick butt.

Im afraid this is a CGI and not gameplay picture, but still, lovely.

The name of the game is Metal Gear solid: Peace Walker, a name that ahs the usual MGS series ring to it, a multiplayer game for the psp, apparently based on the completition of objetives rather than sneak and hide as the older MGS games (well there have always been objetives, but this time you wnot hide).

For those unlucky to know what im talking about or maybe you are not familiar with one of the 2 franchises or maybe not familiar with either (shame on you, infidel!), basically it means you will go armed commando against innocent fire-spitting dinosaurs.

Just translate it as "AWESOME" ok?

Im fairly sure any monster hunter fans will totally get this game as the joy of using a semi automatic gun against a Rathalos sees just like the sweetest idea after sliced bread.

Now this is just sort of a small crossover since the monsters from MH franchise are just a few, the game is mostly focused on gameplay against other enemies as well, but honestly i think one games just shines when it breaks all known borders that reason dictates (dont we love Smash bros because of that?, i mean, stabbing pokemon with a sword? genius!).

Now we will have modern weapons to battle against our favorite (im not sure if anyone actually has other feeling but loathe for MH monsters anymore) monsters, the videos show us some packed action scenes of gameplay (remember it looks low def because its a psp game).

Odin cometh (to kick butt)

After logging in today the first thign that waited me was a tell from el Aqui with something amazing to share (like it is a habit of his to bring me l337 stuff into my morning), and wow!, this one was crazy!

Maybe it was because i have been busy with other stuff like the trials of the magians and finally leveling my dnc (i procastinate a LOT) to be a decent sub for my pld, like im geussing anyone who has seen the new changes to campaing battle is doing, so i pretty much didnt pay any attention to the 2 new avatars specially since im not a summoner at all (im rather magically challenged), but wow this took me completely by surprize, you wonder why, just check this:

you saw it right?, yeah im not kidding it says 9999 damage, i thought it was a joke or something like that so i decided to go and check the wiki myself and i found this:

"Can do upwards of 7000 damage to NMs. Actual damage will depend on current MP at time of summon and resistance."

yeah thats right, odin can do up to 7k damage to NM's, i had to read more about this, apparently odin is sort of a last resort mob for summoners, you can only summon him while under the effect of astral flow, he will pop, do his thing and he will just go away when he feels like it, altho he will attack whatever mob he feels like attacking the wiki article says that his attack "Zantetsuken", is an AoE Death effect, yeah, if this is correct, summoners got access to "deathga" at last.

Now we could sit and talk about just how conveluted this might be, but then again, we all know a lil bit of SE and we can pretty much imagine the restrictions to this ability, wont affect NM's, pretty much all annoying mobs will have high resistance to the damage as well.

Now as im ranting about this, everyone must be already wondering "if odin does this, wtf does Alexander so that it can compete with so much hax?", well Alexander will practically change the face of endgame as we know it a little bit.

Why do i say this? well basically for anyone not too willingly to abandon me in the middle of a rant to check on wiki for themselves (or in the rare case i might have a fan and you actually want to hear me rant...), well apparently Alexander has the same deal of a summon charcateristics than Odin, but he just comes and gives AoE "perfect defense", yeah thats right 60 to 90 seconds of close to no damage frmo monsters, anyone who has done the final fight for the treasures of Aht Urgan expansion pretty much knows what this means.

Now with all this changes i guess we can pretty much take an idea of what might be coming in the future, or we will just fantaize (like me), thatw e finally reached our favorite point in any FF game, yeah, when our characters can pretty much pull a 9999 damage on any mob that crosses our paths, dam i hope that doesnt take too much.

Castle Age Madness

Well with the tittle said, anyone can pretty much figured out whats the addiction that got my attention this time, yeah its one of the legions of facebook mini games there is (and prolly that there will be), Castle Age.

The thing here is that i cant find any decent reason to not like or play this mini game, this coming frmo me is rather weird since i would already be just plain complaining about it, well im actually complaining about the game already, what about? got not enough dam energy!!.

The premises of the game are quite simple, you are the commander of armies and just go around killing stuff, enough right? that has been the basic requirement for any decent videogame since mario decided to hop the crap out of koopa.

Ok well theres some little diferences with this one, the first one being you dont have to put against one of those really uncomfortable NES controls (we all know, all old school gamers had even injuries with those, myself included of course), since this is a computer game your main control will be just your mouse, mindlessly simple in that sense.

Now the game comes with a big background history coming from its predecesors, games like ogame, mafia wars and just any one of those lil html based games, but somehow despite my best efforst to not fall onto the vice, i somehow managed to do it, it lured me out with nice and fancy words describing my entrance to a big battlefield and asking me to take action and support one of the many combatants in place, how could i ever refuse an offer to go help an ally? (or slay goblins...).

So far after playing mindlessly the game for hours and maybe days, im not even sure nowdays, but the game is just incredible simple, you get energy for quests, stamina for fights, health for... well... keep breathing, and thats just about it, you do quests and spend your energy, if you complete one quest you get points to increase your status, if you level up you get points as well and lots of other options to basically... yeah... get better gear than you had last day and even so, the game has just the right amount of addictive catch and simplicity to just keep going at it.

The game is basically, select your general to do a certain chore, select a few status increases as you level up, do some quests for points, do some monster fights for money and treasure and sometimes if you are just not that bored, read the results you get after each one of your "adventuring trips" right after you did clicked it.

Well... i do have an amazing memory for the most inconvenient stuff, i started the game roughly 6 years ago (i think next year i can apply for "ancient player" status!!), i got hooked up in MMO's with Ragnarok Online which was a rather cute MMO, i must say, but i was always a FF fan so when i had the slightest chance to join i did it, as a mexican that was a pain in the ass, i roughly paid 200 dollars for the game and the first 3 expansions due to crazy shipment costs on electronics on my country back then.

Im original from sylph actually... i joined the game along with a rl friend, he was the one who gave me the name Xaria (the reason i freacking love it, the name, it was sort of his partying gift since he moved away later on), i still remember pretty well my first few days in the game all fresh and new, and then i met this girl (come on all good stories have a girl!), well to cut the story short she convinced me to move servers with her so she could come to midgard to play along with her sis, we hanged aorund a lot and did a lot of stuff together and then she retired from the game and i was still in the same server.

Ill cut short this part cause i do remember almost every linkshell i was in and almost everyplayer i et back then (i owe Lazyduck one "tonko: ichi" scroll, back from 2005), a few people's name that ill never forget, Spartan, Freia, Arialis, Chaya, Dwspring, Lazyduck, Alexando and a whole bunch really.

I would go on about how i ended up in my curent linkshell, but i know we will continue partying and rocking out in quetzal, so i guess ill just take my time and remember those times back when everything had far more luster along with those spots in certain areas of the game, you know which ones im talking about, certain spots that have no interest to any quest or mission yet again they are fully detailed with pretty effects and dancing lights that have no other meaning than maybe just one person that really loved his job and wanted to put that special spot in a map even if no one else cared, ill prolly visit those same spots in quetzal yeah, but ill miss the ones in my good ol server midgard.

Ok a el Aqui mentioned today that the shadowlord armor was crazy, and i thought he was first talking about how awesmoe it looked like, but then again, el Aqui is asian, i know it sounds kinda racist, but we all know that just means he has hax in his blood and he knows more than some other people so i looked thru the internet and found this in FFXIAH.

The amount of new stuff there is incredible, some of the items like the teleporting items to towns are what we expected, but some other like the exp rnig are just mad in power. rings with str+6, boy those will break havock among the players

its made out of HAX!!!.

But the real highlight is on the weapons you will find further ahead in the list, several not so good weapons for almost every job, my guess would be these weapons are to be used in the Trial of the Magians quests, so this basically means not everyweapon can be used and each diferent weapon will bring a diferent array of posible augments on the weapon, lots of planning involved, i guess thats much more like SE's ways.

Also we have 3 new weapons with 3 new weapon skills already listed:

I think pretty much every FFXI player knows by know about this but even so being as slow as i am for news i thought it might be a good idea to talk when we are at this time of change for most of our fellow ffxi players (that and with servers down for several hours im booooored).

Well as i was browsing in playonline for the upcoming changes and mostly trying to do something interesting or maybe even preparing for the upcoming changes i found the details of this update and so far they seem pretty interesting.

Well so far everyone and their grandmother know that we will merge servers and the posibilities of this are shocking i must say, also we all are very aware that everything we didnt pull out of the AH will just disapear in the the holes in the fabric of space time that will be created when the servers merge together and of course everyone is a little (a LOT) annoyed by the posibilities of loosing our dear names, but what is the stuff that we dont know yet?.

Well one of the most interesting things coming up will be the trial of the magians, im very enthusiastic about this and i have found some people who have missed this little detail which seems "world conquering" as i use to say to my friends.

Basically the trial of the Magians is simple, you bring any piece of equipment, any piece!, they even made comments about the posibilities of being able to trade up relics and mythic weapons, which brings to mind that is very likely that we will be able to bring from our random stuff in our storage to even rar/ex pieces of gear. Now, after trading it you will be able to select from a series of quests for the augment you want to put on your gear, basically like this:

gear "A" * player selected augment "B" = quest "C"

now what makes this so diferent from FoV? well besicdes the obviosu point where you actually pick which augment you want, theres the matter of quantity, and for this ill quote directly from SE at their vanfest 2010 page.

"By repeating the quests, up to 80 different features can be added to a single weapon. With figures such as Damage and Delay added to the equation, there exist 500 possible attribute patterns for a single quest branch!"

Now lets talk more about the changes, Alexander and Odin? pfft everyone knows about them coming, lets keep it fresh shall we

We all knew about this already, right?

What seems far more exciting to my like are those lil changes the game will get, firstly, the new changes to the WotG expansion, this expansion is slowly but surely becoming something worth of SE, i dont know all of you, but this expansion sure didnt seem "cost effective" bringing only some quests and missions with no proper ending, and the gear and the campaing battles were nice and all, but this all seemed more like an Add-on than an expansion, now we will get as part of the campaing battles rewards new WS's, even more equipment (my eternal weakness, the shinies!) and even more SCNM's.

We will get the WS's the CB Npc's use!, how hax is that?!

For all those who still dont know what a SCNM is, ill go on briefly, basically its a campaing operative in which your missions is to kill some NM's in what seems to be sort of a BCNM type of fight, therefore the common name SCNM, Shadowreing Circle Notorious Monster (sounds pimp!!).

Anyway, we will get the chance to fight now in Castle Zvahl Baileys [S], Castle Zvahl Keep [S] and even fight the shadowlord when he was in its prime all this for the top adventuring reasons, yup, the LOOT!!!

The fight with the shadowlord might be a SCNM

Also we will get a miriad of new items coming in from synergy as well as just brand new synth recipes, along the list seems like we will get items to teleport to each town from game which is very promising (its either that or we will get some earrings with bad status and the name of a town).

Now what other awesome changes we will get? well caskets from mobs in normal areas will now drop evolith as well, im guessing only the locked ones, the old add-ons will be easier to redo for any player who has already finished the expansion (this is somewhat disapointing), and the chances of them getting better augmented items will increase, and for PUP?!.. well... hehe... PUP will get several modifications and automaton adjustments and also... pup gets el shaft!!!

Felina va a Paris (webcomic)

Now i had this idea long time ago, but it came back last week while i was checking thru some links on some deviantart pages and i found this webcomic, as you might notice its actually a mexican webcomic, heck i didnt know there was such a thing before (i knew one but it was taken down recently due to the artist personal reasons).

So now i find this one, its an interesting one and i think before continuing with my plans of future reviews i might give this one a go, but why? because its mexican? heh, no, its because its in spanish, the thing here is that im not sure if i should just make my reviews fully in english or perhaps start double posting making it a go in english and another in spanish (wha? you thought i was american?, pffft im el Mexicat!!).

So now, while i start debating myself if i should just make longer posts repeating myself in 2 diferent languages or make double posts about the same exact subject (tho i think it would be nice to double my posts like that <3), href="http://www.rocioperezmomo.com/Comic/?page_id=303&lang=en">Felina va a Paris" or -"Felina" goes to Paris-, its a webcomic about this mexican kitty that one day just decides to go on a trip to visit paris and we basically follow her thru her trip to the good ol continent bringing along some of that good mexican charm along (as well as a talking iphone).

The webcomic is worked on a rather unconventional and normal way, i know that sounded fancy but its morelike saying "well it kinda looks as if it was ready to be put in a newspaper" then again looking at it makes me wonder if the viewpoint of anthropomorphism in México has changed so much that i could actually find the strips in some newspaper.

The format is black and white and is done by paper and pencil, suposing the inking process could also be done just in a manner to emulate this effect, but it looks rather nice i must say, gives it sort of a informal sensation to it, actually making us think we are lookign at a strip done in a paperpage.

As a normal habit i have got when reviewing webcomics i usually double or triple check them once i have finished readying them to se if theres nothing im missing as for this one is sorta special i know theres lots of talking ill be doing as i keep checking it, i see things i like and on the other hand i see stuff i usually rather not see in a webcomic but its well worked somehow and gives it a nice twist, ok i guess im just stalling now, so i should get going with it ok?.

The art:
interesting, intriguing, natural, simple, eye catching, "effort-conservative" are the words that come to mind when i look at the drawings here, and no, effort-conservative is not either a real word nor an insult, its something rather interesting worth discussion.

The art is nce, gotta check it personally to see what im talking about

Ok lets start with the lines, i usually prefer clear and clean lines on any digital-art i see, but this whole work has a diferent go to this, first of all, it does look like its handmade yeah, but this doesnt mean it looks bad, it rather looks like the style of someone who has a lot of skill with pencils and needs just a 1-go in order to get things done. The expresions are drawn and shown in a very good manner, theres no need at all to see twice a strip in order to get the idea of which emotion the characters have, but rather you might want to look again and realize thats actually a face someone would naturaly do.

The shadows are an interesting matter here, as you go thru the strips you might not notice or leave it just "off the radar" but with each panel you see, you wont find only pretty drawings (they are pretty tho), but rather you'd find more like depicted ideas, this would sound complicated, but its quite simple, each drawing depics the situation and the feeling that the artist wants to show quite well, if you see the shadowed objects in each panel you will realize theres some objects or people that are there but are just not too important and the way they are shadowed is rather fuzzy making them just an unimportant blur that is just part of the scene making us actually focus on the main object or idea for the panel.

The characters:
Basically we have 2 main characeters so far in the go of this webcomic, Felina our "heroine", a mexican kitty as i said before, office worker, lively, cheerful, easy to get along with, nidependant and... well basically thats all thats here to say, its not a simple character, but its rather i dont want to spoil you all of it as the important traits will show off as the "story" unfolds and you see her interacting with other people and going around Paris.

The Iphone... well... he... he is an iphone... so yeah... hes cool, he has g3 internet conection, agenda, internet browser, cellphone capabilities, can take pics (want the specs?, really?), well besides several characters that will pop on everynow and then in the little adventure, we will see the Iphone, hes a Felina's new cellphone she bought before the trip, he coems in handy giving her directions and telling her where to go (tho she might just not listen to him anyway), he knows some of his stuff, but then again if you are born with gps and wiki, its kinda like cheatins isnt?

The Plot:
Well the plot premise is quite simple, we got our heroine on a trip to paris, so far theres nothing to it but maybe a trip of selfdiscovere there?the webcomic is still young so besides a series of funny situations and read about the actual trip that inspired this webcomic theres nothing like a "comic plot" to be seen (yet! dum dum duuum!).

The weakness:
Ok ill do it again, need more updates... ok that part is covered... going on to the next topic now, well the lack of characters might be a letdown, despite the fact that we are seeing the trip to paris all alone, it just feels the lack of other characters at times, on this same point, since we only have one main character, it would be nice to have more details on her, a little bios or something, perhaps not in the strip itself but theres also the lack of a "cast" option in the site.

The extras:
It has a very simple and effective archive that lets you browse the older strips by month showing a thumbnail of the actual strip, really easy to find where you left last time you logged, also on this subject, the site has the option to subscribe to receive news on updates or any posts and changes on the site, totally what any webcomic-stalker like me needs.

The page is delicious!, i mean, its simple to go thru, easy commands and buttons, and the top banner is just awesome, the mixture of styles and colors here is just too good, and it blends well enough with the rest of the site, i totally loved this, it was the first thing i noticed when i entered the site, (tho it was a little disapointed that the webcomic is fully black and white seeing this skill with colors).

Theres this nice gallery in the site where you can find pictures of the artist in her trips to conventions or paris itself, this is also a nice bonus, on each strip theres a little story about the trip and the part that inspired the actual strip you are readying at that moment.

You can find all the strips in both spanish and english, this is an actual extra for mexican and spanish readers, or if you would just like to read the webcomic in its original leanguage (im that sort of person, i had to watch the movie "the puple rivers" in french).

Well after readying dozens upon dozens of american webcomics, this was rather refreshing, i wont pick any favorites here tho (DA!!), but it was rather nice comparing styles completely diferent from a diferent cultural background, the development is diferent and was very interesting seeing a webcomic that depicts a traveling trip, its hard to describe, i would rather suggest you to go and check it for yourself.

Monster hunter portable 3rd!!

So yeah to anyone fan of the series this might not sound like much, pretty much everyone and their grandmother knows that monster hunter tri is coming out in april to america, well thats not what im excited about (well not this time).

El Aqui, a friend of mine sent me the url for it and then a video of the intro, its not the tri game for the wii, but rather the next version of the game for the psp, for anyone who knows a little of the game, in japan the game is monster hunter "portable" in comparison against america which is "freedom".

Well seeing the video my friend got me, well it seems like the game will be based on the "Tri" version, some of the same mobs, some of the same weapons, its kinda like a mixture of monster hunter freedom 2 and tri, which i must be honest, it has me thrilled.

Dont get me wrong, the idea of a game for one of the next gen consoles, tho it might not be the best idea for it to be the wii... i mean, the gameplay sure will be interesting but i bet my fur it will get old really fast, i prefer the psp version, i have 3 other friends i can play it with and go hunt together for the "3rd portable", i highly doubt this will be posible with my friends, perhaps i could play with other friends online, tho knowing my friends they are more likely to have a PS3 or 360 rather than a wii.

Now, even tho im really psyched up about this release this was only in japan, so its either a long wait for me to play it in english in... mmm... lets say 1 year aproximately, now on the other hand this will fee really wrong for me if i ever plan on helping a little with the monster wiki (are you really surprized to hear i make contributions for a wiki and read dozens of webcomics? im not lol), its kinda something weird since this would be like admiting that im out of the loop of this game as i know the really hardcore fans will be playing a translated version soon.

Also, when you become a big fan of a series (or at least a fan middly interested with a nice degree of OCD), since it brings some new and interesthing material into play, apparently we will be playing in a town with the looks of far east (it kinda looks like china), as well as some monsters that resemble animals from the zones, new armors, new weapons including the big Axe we all saw in for tri as well as the gunlance (heck yeah!!) but not only this known and new weapons but also new movements for each one of them.

There also seemed to be the option to have your feline companion (a feature from MHU) wear new diferent armors as well as weapons, if you check the video you will see this has some significant effects over the game.

ugh choices choices, and just when i thought i could have a nice time readying just about 30 webcomics and mangas this half of the year.

As of late i have started using a new format to review the webcomics and such, and i kinda like it, i felt way too pretentious before just using text to describe artworks, i mean, i got a gift with words and all (yeah riiiiight), but it just didnt feel right, as of late i have started using images from the webcomics in order to show thet style change and improovements and as a better way to depict main characters, so far it feels better and personally i also think it looks more appealing as well.

Well it looks nice and all yeah, but why do i bring this up (besides showing off duh!), well i have put some thought on it and i might as well redone some older reviews, when i started i tried to not get too excited and start light with game reviews (i havent done this in a while, just wait a lil for me to get unhooked in FFXI *sigh* as if thats posible...) and some mangas, but i got really excited and couldnt help myself in doing some actual webcomics i wanted much more intrincated and deep reviews, so i might as well do them again.

I hope this doesnt seem like a tactic to increase my numbers in posts, i just hope it looks better and give a more worthy review to webcomics who deserve it (maybe an increase in my readers wouldnt hurt tho!).

For a while i have been following this webcomic and so far it has kept me interested, with it, we start with kind of an apology at the start as well as an explanation of why the first pages are the way they are, perhaps by lazyness, a tight schedule or even a bit of nostalgy i think this is fine.

YOSH, its a comic basically designed for anime and manga lovers without a need of actually making references to them (at least not directly), but what caught me more about it is the way the webcomic grows, unlike we can see on some other works online this webcomic has an impressive growth from the start to the point it is now, maybe with a story developing a little slow, yet again the plot seems well planned so far and the details on it are really of my like.

I think it would go against the kind of reviews i do to offer too much on the story on this webcomic, but boy, i really enjoyed the background for this one, we start with Phil, our classic otaku boy who has a catgirl (actually a tigergirl, but i enjoy much more saying "catgirl" rawr!) and a little talking penguin for rommmates (wonder if its an anime reference uh?), and as we follow his "missadventures" we will learn a little more about them, it starts pretty much like anyother webcomic in the internet but it starts developing slowly into something rather good.

See, Phil is sort of inmortal, inmune to all forms of phisical damage (just like any male character who gets involved with girls, weird uh?), and as their family and friends start appearing in a rather "conventional" or expected way, as i pretty much have to say, the start of the webcomic is rather "childish" if you will, its what you would expect to get from a boy drawing a webcomic for him and his friends to appear in, but if you stick around long enough, the plot will start covering the previous holes into smoething good enough to watch.

The art:
Ok again i must say that the art impresses me, maybe not because its the bet art out there, its decent art going on yeah, but the really impressive thing here is how the quality of the art scalated way off the rather humble start, i must remark the art could have some more work dnoe with the pencils and certain shapes, its pretty yeah, but seeing the way this webcomic got better, we can expect much more.

Ok so far i have rewritten this part a few times more than i would like to admit, you see, the characters are very well drawn, clean lines and the coloring is done very well just like the shadows, they are top notch i would say, but... sometimes it feels rather off place, being a little problem perhaps with the perspective and angles, as i keep looking back at all the archive, i find some poses on the characters a little bit off place, its well worked even tho, i know myself quite well that sometimes one doesnt end up liking their own works (i myself am way too overcriticizing with my own works).

Nowdays is something very well worked tho theres room for more!

Sometimes while working on a project like this, and specially if you are being pressed against deadlines (of doooom!!!), there has to be a comitment on working with the material we have and make the best of it, i think this might be the case, I feel rather out of place saying an online artist that their work is well but their lines could be much better, but honestly, i couldnt put it otherway.

The characters:
Well the characters are all pretty fun to see interacting i must say, being the good guys or the bad guys, some of the interactions are just too fun and others perhaps a bit too interesting to see.

First lets start with the main 3 characters, as the main male lead rol, we have Phil, as i said before hes an otaku, has glasses, he is "inmortal" just as any male character would be in love hina, which i found rather funny with him not being in at a harem at any moment, he is inmune to magic which happens to be a rather unique characteristic in the whole webcomic and will affect his role in the plot, well to cut it short... hes an otaku... so yeah... that pretty much says a lot about him... he lives in an appartment with Kate (obligatory catgirl!), and a talking penguin called Penpen (if wonder if anyone could ever figure out this reference lol), he is quite the relaxed guy, not the cool guy tho more like... mmm... "quiet and relaxed afternoon watching anime with friends" guy?... yeah thats Phil...

Now Kate, our heroine, she is a tigergirl, basically shes a catgirl, a cat of the tiger family? well more like a feline... details details, anyway, she is Phil's roommate and has sort of a misterious past (more like she would beat to neardeath anyone asking about it), she wasnt born a catgirl, like everyone in this webcomic every person who is part animal, was once a normal human, in the background of the comic, we have an event defined as "the weirdening" which transformed people all over the planet into part animal beings, as for Kate this meant panicking parents and gettng kicked out of her home, besides this, this kinda defines her as a strong willed character, but then again shes strongwilled as i said, not to the extreme of being an angry character, or even a "sundere", shes an interesting case, her history is longer than other characters and i dont want to spoil it to anyone.

Well abut the talking Penguin Penpen (really the name wont stop bothering me), btu well, we have a talking penguin who lives with the 2 main characters, he loves jell-o and has murderous intentions towards Phil without anyone else realizing it, so... yeah, sounds about right for your standart penguin right?...

The plot:
The plot for this webcomic went from nada to really good in an amazing pace, well it might have been rather slow, but one would say it was an incredible comeback, really, the plot started just as any other fanboy story would do, you would see the friends of the author poping in the webcomic and making funny entrances and showing magic, wealth and just about anything you can think of it (even chobits), but at some point the story starts developing an actual plot and just as if what we had before was broken pieces of nothing it was put together into something nice and quite interesting, we got an explanation of why there is magic, why theres "animal-people" and it doesnt go as "it happened" but rather is conveyed into a nice setup for the whole thing.

The plot in this webcomic starts getting a rather unusual charm once the story starts picking up, what "created" the mutated humans and released magic again thru the world was called "the weirdening" even tho the name is simple and even a little cocky, it fits naturally along the lines of the plot at the moment is brought up for the reader.

So far i think its pretty obvious that i was impressed by the writting skills put into this webcomic, but really, its not easy to come up with an interesting world as well as a fine reasoning for the stuff going on in a webcomic, its a very nice bonus when someone actually takes the time to do it and is much better when its actually as good as what we will find in here.

The weakness:
After starting "late" on this webcomic, as in, if you just started readying it and devouring each strip there is, you will find that there growth in almost every aspect of it, its very impressive, but on the other hand once you catch up it might feel like this growth has stopped, im pretty sure it hasnt i can see it in each shadow and detail on the backgrounds and clothes, theres some slight improovement but as for now it might be too promising and might leave more than one waiting to get even better, which will happen definitly at its own pace.

The story arcs have been really good so far, and despise the maybe too convenient flow of things, and even though theres the nice attemtp to not tire the viewer from the same story arc and we suddenly jump from some events happening to a few of our main characters and then jumping to others, well honestly the arcs always end up meeting into one single bigger story arc, but you might get the feeling that theres several loose ends that we will be waiting for a while to be explained, perhaps its just me overcomplaining here as i can say this is more of an artistic approach to things.

The website might be a lil too simple compared with the art and story we have, its fully functional for which i cannot complain really, as you browse the site you will find several options at easy reach for the viewer, but some stuff could be left out, specially in the character section, we have the bios and details of each character, maybe you could see a little too much info on them, perhaps a "spoiler" warning sign would sufice for this tho, but the real issue is that despite some characters having too big info on them (pffft, lies!!, theres no such thing as too much info from your favorite characters), other have very few to nothing, seeing the writting skills put into the webcomic, one would really expect to see more of them all.

The extras:

The archive option not only gives you access to the old files, but it also lets you see a thumbnail of each strip separated by month, this might not seem like much but believe me, if you are readying a webcomic with close to 2k strips and you forget to bookmark where did you left, you will see my point very clearly.

The deviant art link gives us access to several of the works of the artist (Phil himself), and we can really appreciate several of his works here, i must say some of them are really good, maybe i have a slight weakness for catgirls and cute females posing in diferent sexy clothes ("slight"? yeah right!), but yeah, i have found myself browsing thru his "deviations" more than once just to "see them again", really good stuff going on here.

Theres an active forum for the site, well actually the main page gives us access to either the comic, the forum or el deviantart page of Phil, which i nice, i visit it often and see what hes up to, his works and commisions are really good, well colored well shadowed clean and very aesthetic.

Despite the fact that it seems like im being rather rough on this, i do enjoy this webcomic, as usual i end up being a little rough on webcomic i like more and specially if i have high expectations, from 2YOSH" Im really expecting to see much more frmo this webcomic, the story so far seems really promising just like the art development, even if fantasy stories are not your thing, its worth a peek to check it out.

FFXIII blues

Not everyone will be able to figure out the tittle this time, and well, its because me unlike most of people this month im flat broke, yeah thats right, and now with that little piece of information everyone should already be guessing i didnt have money to buy me a copy of FFXIII.

So yeah, despite my complete disregard of the mainstream scene in whatever that corncerns games, this time is very diferent, mostly cause half my server, today, is playing FFXIII while im sitting in whitegate along with like 6 more people.

Actually if we think about it last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic for FFXI players, pretty much we got news that would shake our worlds and how we enjoy spending time in our favorite game, at this point i think pretty much everyone has a friend claiming that he/she will quit the game once 13/14 is out, or just quitting already cause we got so many changes its not even the same game (or so they say).

So far FFXI is getting very gloomy, it doesnt matter if we are promised faster events, new weapons or just much more fun, right now my server is pretty much half-empty and i guess it will be that way for at least 1 more month until the FF13 fever goes off a little, so for now i geuss ill.. solo? ugh *shudders*

Well everyone has pretty much given its opinion about this subject and just abuot anyone can tell you that im pretty much weeks late to be talking about the upcoming changes to FFXI, but what can i tell you?, i was really in the mood to complain about that, well honestly i dont think theres much to complain in respect to it.

So far the whole idea of the changes we have been informed that our favorite will have, just pretty much excite me, so yeah, im pretty much waiting to see how all this changes the game, who knows, maybe something good will happen.

Lets see, where do I start with? the new level cap? that one blew my mind, practically been waiting for that one since i started playing the game (when i started 75 was already the cap), this level increase will change so many things in the game and how they work for sure, and all we can do is play the "what if" game, for example, "what if" dynamis doesnt get a level cap as everyone is thinking it will? pretty much implies that we would have actually lowman runs that are capable of finishing the zones, and farm the crap out of it, regardless of how everyone coments at this point that the dynamis zones would be booked 24/7 because of that, i pretty much see that as another benefit, lets say they dont put cap or they dont relevel the mobs, that would mean at least the runs could actually happen several times a day, against 2-3 as we have now.

Now now, some of you might be thining "but think of the relics!", well i had this convo today with a linkshellmate, and he put it into simple terms "just imagine you worked you butt off to buy the fastest car in the planet, that wont stop it frmo being a faster one next year"... yeah i too feel like i just cheapened the whole argument (or my credibility, who knows?).

Server mergings? well, i live in midgardsorm so ill pretty much be affected about this, and again despite several people i know are already complaining and claiming they will quit the game, well... i still think this is pretty much interesting and inovative, despite the fact that im delight with knowing that there will be more than 13 people in whitegate and maybe even with some luck more than 1 person teleporting around (that person is usually me for some weird reason).

The AH prices? well those will pretty much crash i guess, or not, who knows again? my guess is the prices will be a mess the first month (just think its xmas all over again) and then start working into something "normal".

Also as i writte this i cannot help but to think someone will feel this shouldnt be that way but then again, if any of you has ever gotten in control of an endgame ls, you pretty much know what can be done to keep everyone happy and agreeing in whats going to be done, mhm thats right, nada.

Now as i feel as if i were giving a political speech of sorts, perhaps just because im gettnig psyched up about what im more concerned about (the shinies!), i think it would be wise just to stop here, yeah we all are still friends right?... well i sure do hope so or its gonna be a rather weird transition with the new changes.

FFXI comic (webcomic?)

It happens everynow and then that i happen to find a webcomic or a comic rather that doesnt rely as much in art as in just the plot and jokes and well i thank Altana that I always seem to find the good ones.

While browsing the internet and looking for something nice to read sometimes i have to go into deviantart, its quite interesting how some people have their comics up there, most of them ahve a site for their comics as well, and... well maybe i just havent found the sites of them all...

Aaaanyway! back to biss here, FFXI comic, is a work we will be able to find in deviant art, yeah i said it, and i higly suggest everyone to get a deviantart account theres some really talented people in there, ugh gotta focus, focus... well as i was saying, today we have at hand finally a webcomic about our favorite game yeah, FFXI, here at first i was afraid this was an old page and the comic was outdated and already dead, but oh boy was i ever happy to be mistaken (ill rant later about how much i dislike being wrong tho!).

As i said before this webcomic has "no art of its own", since it relies on the graphics of the game itself with a little extra draw here and there (on the comic), but as for any FFXI player the jokes we will find are quite good, just about any average player should be able to grasp whats going on and have a good laugh about it, i had several good laughs here, someone please remember me to send a mail to the author and thank her for the laughs.

Something interesting in here is that besides the good jokes we will find that the author, Artico, a cute mithra you will see in the comic, does actually draw and shes really good at it, her art is worth asking for a comision.... i swear no one paid me to say that... this bag of money is... farm money, yeah...

As of late due to just this page i have been wandering mindlessly in deviantart just looking thru Artico's links and contacts to see if i can find just about more good pics, i usually just dnot like good webcomics, drawgins of FFXI are among my favorite images and well... i think it has been 1 week since i have been browsing this one endlessly.

The art:
Well, i guess i should complain here about the lack of art in the webcomic... i mean it would be just as awesome as the webcomics in my top 5 (smoeday ill write about that), heck it would maybe get to the top, tho im not trying to get everyone to do things the way i would like to, the comic is just fine the way it is, after your first year of playing FFXI anyone just pretty much gets to enjoy the game graphics and take them as a standart, and seeing a comic using the same graphics gives a rather weird sense of comfort when readying it, kinda like "oh boy im glad i dont have to get used to some weird art sense" (not that Artico's art is bad, no no no).

Well theres very few to discuss about art in the webcomic itself... heh you though i would say that isnt? pfft shame on you!, first, the images are real good, i would say that theres pretty much an awesome effort into getting the right angles for each position and personally i would say its a hellish of a job, tho the work on the background would seem simple enough it still shows theres real dedication into it.

Also, the other works of the artist as i said are top notch, honestly, im camping the site waiting for her comissions to be open again and get myself a drawing of my own character, theres just no better drawing you can get of your favorite character than from someone who enjoys the same game you do. Its just, the lines are clean, the color and shadows are well put and you can really see the artistic sense in each drawing, well positioned characters, really good and natural poses (i should start complaining about weird poses i see in certain webcomics i swear, knees dont bend that way!).

The drawing are really good even as sketches.

The characters:
Well we got adventurers!... i dunno, just saying taht kinda psyches me up... so... well, we got several characters here, most of them are friends of Artico and Phen, the 2 main characters, we start the story and meet Artico and Phen and get to know a little about their relationship and how it works, maybe just a little much, but it made me giggle so its all forgiven.

Artico, as the name of the deviantart account implies is the main characters of the plot, we will follow her and see her adventures thru vanadiel and how she spends some tiem with her friends, she is a happy person, (shes cheerful but not mindlessly cheerful as we are used to see in webcomics), shes basically the kind of mithra thats fun to hang with, this... this is actualyl hard to describe in a weird way... she is kinda a beastmaster at heart or rather she has a weak spot for lizards... and carby well lots of stuff, Phen, hot half naked elvaan, carby, lizards among some, shes prone to beat Tarutarus on ocasion tho(but then again who isnt?).

Phen on the other hand is our classic thief (the "your gp or your hp" joke kills me!!), well sorta... in all my time playing the game and meeting people from all over the world i must say that for some reason Phen strikes me as a rdm... which is weird cause he actualyl does remind me of several of my rdm friends to a weird extend, i will leave this to you, im pretty sure you will draw your conclusions to either thf or rdm, im so secure of this is kinda disturbing...

The plot:
Well theres no plot here, its more like a series of strips with puns and nice jokes, i wont complain much about this (ill complain tho!!), so lets go on, theres no plot, ok well yeah theres some minor story arcs and im glad to tell that theres is a consistency on whats going on in a strip and then in the next, this might not sound like such a great thing, but believe me, you will hate a comic where something happens in page one and in page 3 no one cares about it at all.

So basically ill just say that im happy that the webcomic follows certain amount of development consistency, that if you wanna put it in fancy terms, its ok, everyone likes to use fancy terms, we all look smarter when we do it, just dont pull it off too much ok?, god knows ill be the first person blamed for it, and no, i dont know why.

The weakness:
I really hate when i get to this part of my reviews on works i like, honest, it runs in my blood, i can just complain about everything, see that bunny over there? too fluffy, too white, stiff movements, eerie red eyes that pierce thru your soul like cold spears... ugh *shuders*.

Also as a side note, i would actually enjoy looking at a webpage for this webcomic, i dont often pay that much visits to deviantart as for sites, even tho there were several helpful links between each strip, for which im eternally grateful, with the talent i see here, my bet is that we could see a pretty awesome webpage going on.

The extras:
This one is really full of extras, lets starts with the fact that the artist for a change is an actually player of the game and you can see she enjoys it as well as she has a very innovative and cute point of view of it, i cant help but to enjoy readying or watching from someone who really enjoys the subject of his work, i guess its just something natural in the "craft".

The drawings, not only Artico puts on the webcomic but she also has some great artwork going on, i must say im really excited about it, and im pretty sure i have at least mentioned 3 times already im looking foward for comisions to open up, i want to see my character under this particular artist eyes, should be something to enjoy.

I dont know what else to say, the deviantart page of Artico pretty much cheers me up and makes me want to log into ffxi and go play with my friends and do just whatever... im still not sure if that good or not... but really, if you are an actual player or a former player, this site is a "must see", you will surely enjoy it, i hope its that way as it was for me.

Questionable Content (webcomic)

After a long hiatus and trying to writte down about this webcomic for about 1 month, I finally decided to go on with it, i mean, i have been thinking about what to writte about it for long enough, perhaps i wont give the most ideal review on this one but you will soon see why.

Questionable Content, is one of those complicated webcomics i have found out there, and then again readying it all thru has been sorta rewarding, and well i think ill just take my time and explain this thru cause this is not an easy case to review.

Ok... sooo... one of the very first thing we will notice here its the unique art the webcomic has, its a rather new view i would say, why is that you ask? well basically its the very first webcomic i have seen that develops its art in a real american style, i know we have a bunch of anime fans out there and I myself are one, but its nice seeing some work that doesnt just use that kind of art to get people's attention, at the start we will see something rather simple and that well it somehow gets the work done and by the final pages we get to see an stilized art that i dare to say its unique and really good.

One of the highlights (ok maybe not the best word to pick, but i wouldnt say "downlights", no matter how fancy it sounds), is that we start with what seems to be a webcomic of "Indie music", yeah thats right, if you are a fan of indie music and webcomics, this will be a really interesting catch, if you, like me, had no idea that "Indie" was a "genre" of music (the ones that do know what is it are already hating me at this point... yay!), well basically indie music comes from bands that dont have a big publisher or a publisher at all, some claim its real music that it hasnt whore'd up and remains as how music should be, i would just say its not "mainstream music", but whatever.

I got a big complain here perhaps, as i read the webcomic, the first 600 or so strips make several references, mention, jokes, quotations and puns regarding indie groups, so yeah the start of the comic is pretty dam obscure in its sense of humor to some readers, but wait hang on, im not finished with the review yet.

This webcomic took me a lot of time to read, not cause it has over 1600 strips, naw, i would read them in over 2 days... (no life and all... *sigh*), but honestly i got a little bored at the start and had to take some rest between story arcs, but now, the real interesting part here is that as the webcomic developes, so does the plot, the characters and the whole quality of this webcomic, i would say by the end of it i was honestly hooked up with what was going on and up to today im still checking on a daily basis to see if theres no update yet (i know the update days are constant, but i really check to see if theres not a rogue update there).

Ok i think i have rambled enough about that, lets go more into the specifics shall we?.

The art:
Well the art starts from a rather unconventional approach, flat characters, simple and clean lines with a rather weird set of colors, then again this might have been some indirect approach into the psyches of the characters in a way, as the webcomic grows, so does the art (to some might still seem obvious, but really, this does not always happen unfortunately), the lines and the colors will slowly start appearing in almost as if naturally, if you check the first strips against the most current ones you will find a world of growth there.

We go from a simplistic art at the start.

Now checking what we will be shown nowdays we will find a webcomic rich in simple yet effective details, very well applied shadows and lights, the right angles and poses for the situations, this here is very important, every situation not only deserves a good set of lines to be said as well as a plot, but also the right angles for it makes it much more interesting (ugh, sorry, im a movie fan, so, the camera must be in the right spot at all times for me).

We end up with an unique style like no other with an strong american influence.

Something new for me was the actual american art here, its not very common nowdays in american webcomics (oh sweet irony, you make me giggle), but it works, after readying it a little and checking out the art, i was really impressed, it works wonders and talks a lot about the webcomic itself, its really something work seeing in this area.

The characters:

Hmmm.... i will sounds really rough here, but i was really disapointed at the start of the webcomic with most of the characters, the whole webcomic revolves around a group of friends and what they do yeah, and we all know sometimes friends act alike and think alike, but at the start, Questionable Content pretty much overdid this, it started with a bunch of characters that pretty much knew the same stuff, did the same jokes, thought the same, it... it was kinda like seeing some theater play with only one person doing all the characters, the growth of each character into its own was slow, like really slow...

Now, ill go on with the complaining cause thats sorta my thing here... so yeah... sorry, well lets forget the past of the characters when they were just the same person talking as many, recently we can appreciate the interactions of diferent characters and if i must say interesting "people" which one would really like to meet and chat a little with (or in some cases be sassed just because), despite the mono-mind at the start, by the end, we have a real set of characters well defined and with their own traits and qualities, making all the interactions just the more interesting and fun to watch.

Ok, we have a bunch of characters, perhaps the most important to mention would be just about 4 of them as you will see the spotlight on them most of the time.

Firstly we have Marten or "Marty", he will be our main character in this webcomic, indie guy,

music nerd as he defines himself, kind of a nice guy and basically the whole webcomic revolves around him and his friends, theres not much to say about him other than he is just... basically what i said before and not much else, well theres some rather funny stuff to be said about his family but i'll let that to you for the finding, Marty lives in an apartment with his "anthropc" -Pintsize-, as well as with the new girl in town Faye, she is Marty's main romantic infatuation at the start of the webcomic, this feeling is kinda reciprocal but... well i dont want to spoil you the Plot also Marty ends up with Dora, another lovely girl we will as well.

Faye, she would be one of the main leads of this webcomic, she is... rough?... hard?... well i kinda need fancy words to try to cover up the fact shes a real b-tch (wow im going PG-13 here now), anyway, yeah... she would be one of those persons that are really hard to get along or to start liking at all (call me a bad person or whatever, i know the story behind her ways and all, but i still cant get to like her as a character), shes got some heavy past on her so she acts the way she is, so shes kinda mean to everyone and will sass you at sight, despise all this, shes an interesting character once you know more of her and will probably change the way you see her as she develops more in the plot.

Dora, she is another one of the main characters in the webcomic, despite her late appearance in

the webcomic compared to characters such as Steve (Steve is Marty's best friend, but he doesnt make enough appearances to be considered a main one), but she makes up with a more constant presence, she likes Marty but is unable to make a move on him because he knows that Faye has feelings for him as well, shes Faye's boss, owner of a coffe shop, she is friendly, smart, also a fan of Indie music, easy to get along, well, the easiest way to describe Dora would be saying shes a -natural-, she is one of the characters we would be more familiar with or rather, we do know someone like Dora.

Pintsize, he is an Anthropc, sort of a mini robot/computer, he is kinda like the result of mixing an Atari, a laptop, a destructive lil kid and a book of Isaac Asimov while on pot, Pintsize makes up for the comic relief of the webcomic, he is fun and destructive, just as he is silly, we will get to see more of Anthropc's in the webcomic, as the robot fan i am, i kinda like the idea of this sort of robots, personally i would like to see more of them.

The plot:

As life itself, theres no plot going on but rather a series of arcs that develop naturally and some of them we see them coming miles away but still is rather nice to read, what do i mean with this? well, if you have seen 2 friends that like each other but wont admit or dont realize it, you pretty much know whats bound to happen sooner or later for the good or bad, in this sense the webcomic mimics life to a good degree, art imitates life, simple as that. (not that is a bad thing)

Plot? who needs that?

Well after such a brief explanation on the plot i felt like saying a bit more, but really, it can be taken as just something as simple as life (or as complex as life, depending on which approach you want to take), but its something nice to see, to a degree all the characters interact in a unique way and that pretty much makes up for the ongoing plot.

The weakness:

Too much indie at the start, ok... yeah sorry... im not a music nerd and god knows im behind my "to listen" list by years perhaps, not even mainstream music gets to me unless if by my sister and even so could take me days to get a new song into my lists, so for me the start of the comic was something rather unconventional.

Ok, i have a whole lists of complaints about the start of the webcomic, the characters, their personalities, the plot, but really, the current strips make up for that, i cant really complaint about something you did in your past and now your doing the right way isnt? (i will still complain tho <3)

Extras:

If you unlike me (which is more likely) enjoy the indie scene or are a real music fan, you are bound to get a good time out of the jokes in the webcomic as well as the references.

The characters develop into some rather interesting people, really, at some point in the webcomic its just worth to take a peek just to see whats going on with the comic.

The recomended list, as a music person, the artist of the webcomic left for everyone who wish to see a link to his blog where he talks about music he likes to listen and the like, i have just barely started to read it, as i have said before im really behind my music and my readynig so theres so much i can do for that.

One thing i thought it was worth mentioning is that the webcomic not only starts getting interesting but it starts getting really fun to read as well, the jokes and puns improove a lot, to the point where i honestly enjoyed most of the last strips to a degree i had to stop laughing in order to not hurt myself.

Well, as far as i know i think this webcomic is too mainstream for me to even mention it here, but it was an interesting trip and i actually recomend it to anyone who is looking for something to read and spend a good time with (given you have to wait for the webcomic to mature a little from the start to the good parts).

It has been a while that i had in mind to talk about this particular webcomic, and if anyone wonders why i didnt well it was cause i was mentally preparing my readers (i confirmed i have at least 3 yay!!), for this one.

No no, its not that weird... nevermind it is, the whole story is quite interesting, i would say almost unique, yet again, the more time i spend online the less likely im to say "unique" over and over.

Slightly Damnned will be the comic that we will be seeing today, soryr for the name, and the bad words but... words are words, who are we kidding?

It all starts with our main character, Rhea snaketail, shes from a race known as Jakkai in the realm of Gaia, the story starts just as her life ends thats right we follow her adventures right when she meets the reaper (dont worry hes a nice guy), and when it comes to figure out whats next BUM, the great book of life just has her as "undetermined", must be awesome to find a crack in the fabric of reality cause our hero managed to not be able to go to heaven neither purgatory.

At this point i must say i was already hooked up, i had a religious upbringing (of sorts, or a little bit), and the whole idea of this already had me really interested, i guess it comes back to one self, it all depends if you like the idea of thinking whatever could happen beyond or not.

Anyway lets not get theologic here ok? to even pose this subject is just asking for problems, ill have christians and catholics all over me if any ever read this.

So continuing on the webcomic, to cut it short and just dont spoilt further of the plot, Rhea meets another important character in our story, Buwaro Elexion, (the name itself is an spoiler! take that!!), a purple demon that lives in this non-circle of hell, but then again he isnt that much of a demon himself, rather a lost boy in hell with lots of free time.

So far i had to say the plot cause this is one of my favorite plots in webcomics so far, ill review it again going for more details on it.

Slightly Damned also shows us a pretty decent art, the growth of the artist is good in here, basically this webcomic starts from a "better than average" art to an "impressive" class, its not mindblowing good, but its pretty impressive i must say.

The art:
I just mentioned a lot above but yeah, why not lets go at it again, the art is pretty good, it had a humble yet appealing start in the first strips using perhaps what some art specialist would call some cheap tricks on the background, but i myself should say those were well used. the work on the background just kept getting better and better with each strip.

The characters as well as most of the webcomic are pretty lively (even for demons), and on top of all, colorful, one thing you will notice is that theres not even a single strip not done in color (oh boy im ever grateful for this kind of consistency in the art <3), style="font-weight: bold;">

The characters:
Lets go with the main 3 characters ok?, lets go firstly with Rhea, she basically our tough type of character, she takes on pretty well to the idea of finding herself not in hell or heaven, and as the story goes on you will justr ealize this as well, she wont let herself be shaken easily with whatever happens to her, confident, cynical, not too cheerful really, but quite capable of making friends and caring for them.

Buwaro, he is purple, he is kind, he is... well... a couple of us would call him "slow but well intentioned", and he might as well be that way, hes cheerful, affectionate, caring, yeah hes all the packet, he has some rather interesting background and as the story goes on we will be more focused on him as he will also evolve a little on his own (not pokemon evolve tho).

Kieri "Snowy" Suizahn, boy the plot had a twist i... well honestly i half expected this twist, Kieri is an angel whom they meet on their adventures (i wont say where cause its a big spoiler), in an ironic twist of all this, we can basically say shes our generic kind emo girl... mmm... i think they could make a FF game with her on it... anyway!, yeah shes kind, caring, she has issues regarding her family and a somewhat troubled past (really why do we even bother saying, "that person has a troubled past", dont we all have one?), we will know more about her as the story goes on.

The plot:
I think i already mentioned that i liked the plot a lot, lets just confirm it, ehem... i like the plot a lot.

Basically the plot is easy to get, everyone can get a basic idea of whats happening without too much trouble, the artist managed to get Rhea into the "slightly damned", area of hell without getting involved into a huge theological approach or a big explanation of what the chocobos that is, really, im grateful for that, i was foolish enough to ask a friend about the plot looking for ideas on which words to use, and boy was i ever regreting asking something... yeah i wont say a lot but apparently christian theologists have an explanation for every posible outcome with your soul (on my side it was a poor decition asking someone with knowledge on christian theos...)

So well, going on, the plot is simple to get, but not simple enough to see the outcoming of the whole webcomic, yeah, its actually thrilling, dont let the funny words and the pretty colors fool you, the plot is some nice work going on and im waiting eagerly to see what will happen next, since its obvious theres not really a big issue with the cast dying (again, woops!!, spoiler <3!). style="font-weight: bold;">

The weakness:
First time ever, i cant complain about the updates, the site specifies saturday updates, i know its rough, its few updates, but then again, the artist does update every saturday so... it would be like complaining that i slipped on wet floor just because i decided to not pay attention to the "wet floor sign".

but does that stop me from complaining?, pfft as if! never!!.

The extras:
No really, the site is pretty solid, nice updates going on, while personally i cant find something to complain about, i can think of a lot of nice extras that i find quite nice to this webcomic.

Information: while some webcomics create a world and let you know it thru the point of view of the main characters, in "slightly damned", we have several links that even tho they might be a little too simple they offer a bunch of information about the realm we are visiting (remember kids, always learn a little about every realm you visit so you wont end as something's meal), the races, the classes, heck even the history of the realm including the great angel/demon war.

Deviant art link: most artist have this nowdays, they have their webcomics and at the same time they have deviantart accounts showing other works of them, maybe not other webcomics, but sometimes just random sketches or nice extras as well as the posibilities of comisions.

Forum and IRC: it has forums for the fans, cant ask much else really (im not a fan of joining on all forums for all the webcomics i read, sorry).

Store: i wont say stores are a good thing or wont promote a thing... but darn those hats are too cute...

Well this is the end of my review, i really like this webcomic so maybe i brought a really biased review on it, but i do hope everyone else likes it as well (despite the fact i know some of you might think of it as too childish), but really, its good, perhaps a must see at least once in the internet. now go on and read!!

No Pink Ponies (webcomic)

I had nearly forgotten about this webcomic (despite the fact its in my bookmarks) just by a simple fact, it updates every 2 blue moons or so (maybe longer, time just seems to flow eternaly for me), but even so i must say its a good one.

No Pink Ponies is a rather unconventional webcomic, for starters the art is pretty eye catching, honestly its an american style with some japanese influence (we seem to have a lot of that as of late nowdays isnt?), but somehow the mixture creates a style of its own and it really looks good.

In here we have our heroine Jess, the clasical cute comic-fan girl... ok thats a new one... well she happens to open her own comic bookstore for all the wrong reasons mind her heh (really what can ever do a shy girl to get the attention of a cute guy at the counter of a comic bookstore?), but anyway, the plot for this webcomic is real light, it uses a 4 panel setup which makes for small puns and light jokes with a normal sequency on them (this just means no crazy artistically view of things from diferent perspectives on diferent times), the plot goes on its own pace and as a mark of the artist (which has done some interestign works before and im sure ill be writting about them soon as well) we will see a romantic plot going on underneath the daily happenings of our heroine.

The art:

Again as most of my favorite webcomics out there you can see some evolution in how the art goes on about the webcomic, i must say the artist is very talented for this one, the art is diferent from my usual preferences, rather than simple and clean is rather a little bit more complex in the lines and details (not too much, just enough to make it noticeable theres some pencil shadings here and there), i also wont say its a clean work here, but this not come in the bad way, rather, sometimes you will see some inking done in a very profesional way and others you will just wonder if thats just pure pencil with the right saturation setup done in photoshop (or even a mixture of both perhaps).

All in all, its easy on the eye, worth checking and maybe even using as reference for your own projects here.

The characters:
I wont say this webcomic doesnt resemble friends mixed up with a little of big bang theory, but then again that might be not such a bad idea, basically we have a bunch of friends of our heroine Jess, friends and family as well actually.
While Jess can be sorta introverted in just all the wrong situations (or perhaps the ones she is bound to be, yeah romantical situations), she is pretty much a cheerful girl who enjoys her hobbies and has a strong will to do and complete her own goals, basically a really nice person if you will, she loves comics, her family, spending time with her friends and has a crush with the cute guy, "Guy", of the series (his name is actually "Guy", this is a trademark of the autor if you chec other works).

On the other hand we have for example Guy... yeah i know that name blows my mind, whats he? an old british conspiracer?, anyway, despite being one of the very few people selected to brand the most dreadfully uncommon name reminding us of V, anyway... he is basically one of those very clasic nice guy (ugh, i swear the name kills me when i try to be serious), hes good looking fellow, a hard worker, good brother, good son, nice with the elderly, from a southern family... yeah hes a nice guy (dam you Guy!! *shakes fist*), well i honestly have nothing against characters that might be overly simple and yet soo fictional due to the way they are at the same time, yeah i know, you wont find a person like this in the real life anytime soon (or at anytime at all), and yet again seems like its a really simple descrition isnt? heh... life can be complicated like that you see.
We will see also more family and relatives of both characters as well as their friends, while readying the webcomic we will get to meet them from the funny approach bound to happen in any comedy to just a way that will make you wonder when did you start readying a soap opera, yeah there will be romance and drama involved, if you like a mixture of all those in your webcomic this one will be of your like for sure.

Really, shame on you if you dont get the reference!!

The plot:
The plot goes on its own pace as i said before, we will see it develope with no rush here, tho it might seem sometimes that it goes just nowhere, well i got nothing to say against that but theres a plot inplicit and i must say the "serious" arcs that we have here are interesting and thrilling (if maybe not a little to slow to develope), but yeah, theres something going on if not all the time but you gotta let comedy take its own pace right?.

The weakness:
Lets just avoid the classic "need moar updates" (tho it does!), maybe i wont get tired of saying this, even tho the artist and autors might have their own personal lives or even some other good works going on, and i respect that, but well, one can never stop being a fan and wish that we could just have more of that, ok, lets go on.

Well a couple of things i just wanted to mention briefly, first, the name haunts me, im still not able to figure out why would this webcomic have such a name, well i got a very solid idea of why is this but... it would be just too simple..., ok second, besides the fact that i like simple art well honestly I am not such a fan of simple websites, really, not all keenspot sites have to be simple (or maybe its just that so much blue hurts my eyes).

Consistensy, yeah, if you "devour" webcomics is fine and all, but if you like to take your time and appreciate each page and each line you will notice this as well, and i mentioned it before in the art part, somtimes the art seems to have been done last minute and just pencil work with a few PS fixes here and there, and sometimes it has so much work done on it taht it makes you wonder if we will see finer drawings soon enough, its kind of a weird feeling here, with colored pages you see a mixture of pencil work done as well as with colors, but there seems to be a little more lacking with the shades, then again i might be spoiled by the internet at this point.
All in all, this webcomic is very promising, i keep checking it everynow and then (as well as other works from the same artist), its a very promising work and perhaps that the reason i seem to have so many complaints about it, still a really good one to check and read.

Geeks Next Door (webcomic)

When you wandefr around the internet you are bound to find just about anything (and porn about anything as well, rule 34 of the internet), its easy to get lost i know, i get lost inthe internet about every 2 days, well not too lost, basically i find a good webcomic or manga and... well basically no one knows a thing about me for 2 or 3 days until i finish readying it.

Today i brough to the table a rather special one, this webcomic is kinda about life-roleplaying-geekness, Geeks Next Door, is basically as the name implies about geeks, basically we have a little family and friends who live together and we just get to see the random stuff that happens in their lives from a comical view, honestly is one of those works that make it hard to describe in itself but will bring you some good laughs.

Art imitates real life... honest!

Basically we have a couple of geeks, yeah an actual couple couple, and theyr roomate Barry, we just get to witness about everyrandom stuff that happens to them from a rather "twisted" point of view, (well its just as twisted as my own imagination, which makes it more fun for me), this along with a colorful and well done clean art brings a rather refreshing option for a nice webcomic to read.

The art:
Ok we got to the art part rather fast isnt? well this is due to the random nature of the webcomic itself, you will see them going from a comic convention to some D&D gathering to a zombie infested hosue in a rather unexpected way, so ill just say whats good and whats bad about this one ok?.

The art itself is pretty consistent, i mean, you will realize theres improovement, but to be honest the skills of our host artist here were already pretty good when she started her webcomic, we will see how in someway she managed to make more room for the drawings as well as put the right sets of colors in each strip.

One thing that will be pretty diferent from other webcomics is the art itself, the creator Jessi Bavolack, has her own personal style of draw, really, i had never seen something like this before, its simple yet well worked in detail.

The plot:
I will have here the same problem when i try to explain the plot of seinfield, basically the plot goes on about what they do, so basically for all meanings and purposes, besides the small arcs based on roleplay sesions they have or trips to some comic conventions, this webcomic has no such thing as a plot.

The characters:
The crew of this webcomic is pretty interesting, mainly we have Jessi and Matt, as i said they are a "geek" couple, they watch anime, read mangas, read harry potter, play vdeogames, play D&D together and lots of other stuff we will see in the webcomic, Jessi would be the cheerful type that basically gets along with most of the persons and can be a little clumsy yet again really charismatic, Matt is kinda easier to describe, he would be your evil dungeon master... so yeah that kinda sums it up, hes cool and all most of the time (despite the fact he does know a lot of about everything), but we will see him on his "DM" facet most of the time, i swear while i read it, i cant help but to imagine him leading a run and destroying my team for fun and giggles (D&D is all about that after all... isnt?).
We will also get to know more friends and family of them, basically their roommate which happens to be kinda the good person but then again annoying type, Jessi's sister Maggie, which in her own words she describes her as "cooler than Jessi", brings on table the sibling of a geek, someone who is basically a "closet geek".

The extras:
This webcomic has a nice extra i wasnt sure how to put, so ill bring it as a little bonus the webcomic offer, basically GND has a sidework going on for the site dungeon mastering (i guess it would be due to Matt's influence here), so basically we have an extra story about a roleplay run going on with the original cast of the webcomic, if you are a D&D player or you used to be is definitly something it will make you have a good time.

The weakness:
By this point im personally more inclined to a webcomic with a plot going on, or at least traces of one as some seem to have mroe as of late, theres nothing bad to it, but then i geuss im just not too big of a fan of plotless apporaches for fun unless its in the total abstract context (anyone remembers SMBC?)

The now obligatory "not enough updates", the site often gets 1 update a week which i guess its a good thing? maybe its just me, but never seems to be enough when its a good work.

Honestly theres no much to complain about this webcomic, its good and i do visit it often looking for some updates, perhaps the lack of a plot makes it look less interesting than other works out there, but if your not looking for some "online visual novel" this is a rather good webcomic to read.

DMFA (webcomic)

Ok, first, yeah, i was too lazy to writte down the whole name the title... so what? sue me.(its a joke, dont do it!, get away from that lawyer!)

The full title would be Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures, oh boy! you see it right? its again time for another furry webcomic review! yay!.

Well lets go pass the fact is a furry webcomic and most of you guys might still have some issues regarding this type of fandom (mostly cause of the weeeeeird pokemon/digimon porn i know... ugh *shivers in fear*).

Anyway, this one is a really good one, im afraid i might have to add it to another one of my favorites and yet again split whats left of my soul and have the new little piece of whats left of my soul (or it was a happy meal... im not sure anymore), and go anc check the site everynow and then looking for some updates.

Now lets go to the bizz shall we?, what makes this webcomic so amazing to the point im talking about my soul?, and Im pretty sure one of my friends is already laughing at me for that... damit Zann...

Well basically this webcomic is ingenious, really creative, tho one if anyone checks a little bit in the background one would see that half the characters were created for the game "furcadia", but then again the creator manages to make good use of this information and gave me a good laugh at this fact. The thing is, we have a big fantasy world here (or perhaps a few dozen worlds)with basically an insane amount of races, from Faes (basically fairy-like, tho dont take me literal on that im sure this comment will come back and bite me later), to dragons, succubi (or Cubi), creatures and beings (this is not a typo, gotta read it to understand it).

One of those little pleasures you get when readyin a webcomic is when you actually see the artist improoving with their works, and this is a mighty case, its a LOONG webcomic granted (took me 4 days to read the 10XX its right now), and as you keep readying it you will find that it goes just better and better, in just about everysense, the art went from your standart B&W webcomic to an awesome drawing for each strip.

Another thing i really liked it was the "balance" there is for the whole work, oh boy!!, well what does el little crazy mexicat mean here?, basically the webcomic has its plot, has drama, has comedy, has adventure, has crazy, all in a good measure (well maybe it has a little bit too much crazy, but who is complaining? im not!), i really enjoyed all the arcs, even if the plot was a drama or a comedy.

The art:
Nyehehehe i really liked this one, well lets go from teh start here shall we?, the webcomic started as i said before as you "standart B&W webcomic", maybe a little weird specially if you are not too used to furry webcomic (I said "hey at least its clean"), well, from the start you can notice theres some work going on to make the webcomic.

As the webcomic goes on you will notice that the art becomes smoother and just about better in every posible way, the angles, the faces, the colors, the shadows, the backgrounds (this the creator Amber, claimed it was her weakness and i think she overcame this just fine), well, some of you might find it a little too "colorful" and indeed it is, I accept this, but personally i like it, i prefer it to those grim views of life you can find on certain webcomics that just shout "no one understands me", heh, myspace doesnt count as a webcomic, so i might bring you some examples later for you to see.

To this awesome and refined style

The plot:
Interesting, promising, it started plain obvious it was for fun and giggles, but with the latest arcs we will find a more and more interesting plot, its got me to the point im already trying to guess whats going to happen next, but then again i soon give up, not because it might spoil the fun (i swear some artist are so predictable), but rather because Amber (the creator), is just plain crazy, well i think to put it in more orthodox terms she has a very creative mind prompt to just spurt about randomness covered with muffins (ok... that wasnt orthodox... anyway!).

The plot is getting more interesting each new strip nowdays, right now its about the moment when you can see the climax for it coming and personally i have no idea whats going to happen but then again im enjoying the ride there.

The characters:
mmmm... The characters are very interesting i must say, and among them i have my personal favorites (each one for all the wrong reasons yay!), then again i must say, all the characters along with the art might be just a little bit too colorful and lively, i really like them this way honestly.

Lets see, we have Dan, blue-winged feline incubus(tho all cubi are winged), retired adventurer, good brother, good friend, straighfoward'ish person, low attention spam, likes to keep his friends close, basically our "clasic" silly hero, he is there he has good intentions and even tho he tries his best to do so things will just go a little unlucky for him, tho this is what brings most of the good laughs we will see here.

Now we also have Mab, our clasic purple haired fae-kitty (i dont know when it became a clasic, lets form a commite and figure it out later ok?), easygoing, cheerful, hugful, childish, she is our heroine... and well... shes cute... and... shes Mab... honestly, i tried to figure out something cool to say here, but... Mab is Mab... theres no better way to explain it...

Theres several more characters, but honestly i could go on and on about all of them and i would reveal which one are my favorites, i promise i wont go on making weird stories for them... well maybe not... but really, its worth it to check it on your own.

The weakness:
The links section is HUGE! it will take me a lot of time to check out DMFA's links, tho seom of them are already among my bookmarks already, this might be the second time i find someone who reads so many webcomics...

Yeah im stalling, i couldnt find anything to say here... mmmm... yeah nothing yet... Im not trying to say this webcomic is perfect, im just very happy with what is there so far and im expecting to see more in the future.

Sector 9 (movie)

It might come as surprize to some but i do looove movies, i watch all kind of movies and the ones i find more funny i watch several times over, and boy i do enjoy frmo good to crappy movies. its just like readying a book but in a much more intense and way too short way.

So i went today to bluckbuster today and rented a couple of movies and i happened to finally see sector 9 over their titles, being the big movies fan i am, sometimes i even wonder myself how come i dont watch my favorite movies in the movie theater, well its very simple, work and rl sometimes doesnt allow, but thats what bluckbuster is there for isnt? (thanks god for the globalization).

Now this was a movie i was much anticipating since the moment i first saw the trailer, i dunno about anyone else but thats just my favorite part of any movie, the trailers, it doesnt even matter if the movie is crappy, people in the bizz sure know how to make a movie interesting, theres a nice ammount of movies for which the trailer is far better than the movie itself, i might actually writte later about this since it sounds amuzing to do it.

Well back to bussiness, Sector 9 is a very interesting sci-fi movie, its got aliens, its got robots, its got explosions and awesome weapons, the bad point? its got one of the weakest main characters i have seen in a long time.

Our main man (or prawn-to-be) character would be Wikus something, and while he got afflicted with the alien technology and started changing into one of them and suddenly being able to use their weapons and technology, he started to become into a winny little girl as well.

I dont know if its just me or maybe someone else bothers this, but im not very pleased by seeing the "hero" of the movie being so incredibly lame in about every aspect, really, as you see the movie you will start realizing the main character is just kinda:

A) Bad at makign just about any kind of desition, honestly, in one part of the movie he decides its a good idea to go give a handshake to a mercenary with a bulldog face while telling him "your taking too many bullets with you, why is that?"

B) Low on the wits department, i wont lie about this, he got sprayed in the face by an alien liquid in the face and he starts coughing and feeling feverish, his plan of action? he went to grab a burger.

C) A coward, at some point in the movie he managed to be driving a personal suit of awesomeness, armed with extraterrestial weaponry, basically inmune to bullets, he decided to run away like a scared little girls with it (dam this actually pissed me off).

At some point in the movie he had to act like a hero, but by the point he started doing it i was way too tired of him already, i mean if the movie wouldnt have had the twist in which he decides to do the best for about everyone, well it wouldnt have been a good movie, it would have been just like watching "Lemony Snicket" movie all over again. Really, i would had asked for a refound if the movie kept going the way it was, even tho it turned for the best i must say this Wikus character is one of the weakest i have seen.

As for what we watch in movies i think we all want to see human virtues in it, we want to go to the movies and watch heroes saving people, or heck, normal people becoming heroes because they have strong beliefs and wills to carry them on, as i keep hearing in some places and some movies as well "being brave is not about having no fears, is about overcoming them and do what is right", this makes us think that just about anyone can become a hero if we just put our fears away and do whats we feel ans know its right.

Really if we wanted to see how human nature works in their worst we wouldnt need to watch a horror movie or anything like that, we could just go downtown or any big city and fully "enjoy" the whole deal and nice mixture of bad human nature all over the place and even shoving you aside with the shoulder cause you were in their way.

Really, i doubt theres just a better place to go and find a good example of real human virtues other than the movies and i was really disapointed in how this "hero" was shown, some people will argue me that it was a "real man-like" example of how a hero would be, but then again we dont go and see that sort of stuff do we? i dont remember going to movies to see how my neighboor would checken out during an alien invasion or anything like that, (tho the part where he gets beat up would be funny enough to make it worth).

I dunno, i got really mized feelings about the movie, the special effects were real good, but nowdays all movies have something like that so we end up actually focusing in whats really important, heroes.

Red string (webcomic)

Ok you might have noticed (and if you wont, dam you have some really low spot checks), but im sort of adicted to mangas and webcomics, and even thought i enjoy veyr much readying the silliest works out theres just because "they make me giggle", everynow and then i find a webcomic that makes me go "yeagh!".

So today we will check an interesting phenomenom, Red string, is a romance type webcomic, now, if you dont know this, i love romances, its kinda like my weakness, give me a decent-to-good romance webcomic with some nice comedy going on and im all in, heck, give me a webcomic based on any of Adam Sadler movies and ill be theres 24/7 (and prolly crying in secret at the good scenes).

Now how come if im addicted to webcomic and i love romances i dont like this particular webcomic? well just think of me as your regular junkie, lets just thing how nasty my "shots" are that i just want to do something else instead, yeah thats right, readying this webcomic makes me want to go outside and do stuff out there in real life world, ugh it sounds even creepier when i read it outloud.

Ok it might sound harsh specially since it seems i cant give a bad not to a webcomic, well thats not true, this is actually the second webcomic im suggesting people not to bother (shush leave me alone, 2 is a lot).

Now whats my deal with this one? well, for starters, the plot is weak, by readying it you will realize that the webcomic was written by someone who has read a weird mixture of many shoujo mangas and american soap operas (lets watch for the lost evil twin poping at some point), and the same goes for the art, in fact everything in the manga reeks of this weird combination and honestly it doesnt go well in this particular work, its just not right on some weird levels im not able to point it out perfectly but its just something it makes me feel uneasy at everymoment i read it.

Ok i think i have said too much and too little at the same time so lets go to the specifics on why i dont like this one.

The art:
The art in this one is disapointing to some extend, you see, its a clean work, its simple to some degree, but theres this something...

Well you see, i tend to bee easygoing when i read webcomics, i just sit and enjoy the art, and its a given people either put simple and colorful art if they can work with it, and other put elaborated drawings that show the best of their skills and thats all good, but for Red string, the art seems like its a litle bit off, its about little details that just throw all the picture out of proportion, like jaw's a bit too big, eyes on the wrong perspective, wrong sizes etc etc...

Now, im not trying to be an art critic, most of my favorite webcomics are rather too abstract or too simple to be able to claim that, but they go with that all the way, what im trying to say is the art here seems too forced, each strip of the comic seems like the artist is trying her best to draw a "too perfect" picture all the time, this mized up with the hybrid setup all the webcomic is in, its just weird to the viewer, you will find yourself finding a weird change from anime eyes to american eyes in just about the same strip without notice or apparent reason.

The plot:
The plot is as thick as the tittle, just a little string, lets overlook the fact that the tittle "red string" has a deep meaning and posible a great thematic and whatnot, its just used in all the wrong ways, we follow the life of a highschool student that for no aparent reason is engaged to be married to another young guy as part of an arranged marriaged between the parents, ok this might not be THAT much a random occurence nowdays... if we lived in India, even in japan that stuff can happen but only between rich families because apparently some rich japanese families are so stuck up they are still stucked in the middle ages, and even if it was japan for a common family it would be just too extreme, especially if they are japanese.

Now as i told you before this all seems to be done in Japan, yeah the place has a nice appeal to it and all, but why the hell is the main character an american girl? i read one third of the whole thing and still not found why she was natural blond in japan, with both japanese parents. Maybe i have missed something out there, maybe this whole plot is just before the mai thing and im just readying the premovie of "Big trouble in little china"

Yeah i guess one of the guys would look like Jack Burton... and this is little china not japan... meh, its not like the whole plot makes any sense anyway.

OK where was i? oh yeah trying to call down after feeling ripped off by readying this webcomic.

The characters:
2 dimensional, all of them, after readying just some mangas not even a lot, just a couple, and maybe watched some soap operas, you will basically know which kind of character is each one, the main character, a teenage girl named Miharu (which for some reason its spelled in katakana in a few parts of the webcomic rather than hiragana, beats me why) with the charming personality of basically any highschool girl with... basically no other traits... she does relate to a teenage girl with no other aparent interests, despite the fact every male characters seems to be heading towards falling in love with her theres just no apparent reason for this because, well besides the fact shes a highschool student, theres just not much else to say about her, shes to marry an stranger yeah, but well thats no reason to not have hobbies or interests in your own.

The cousin, a 2d harpy who is envious of Miharu, wants to wreck her life maybe because Miharu can smile more freely tahn she does or some pop-psycological reason like that.
The fiance, Kazuo, 2 dimensional as well, hes basically the oh hes a good guy and has interests, he gets to have interests, nice, but... well thats all...

The weakness:
I dont even know if they update often, personally i would go and read something else, this is just too much of a bittersweet candy with no other substance to offer, too simple, too thrilled, no other emotions going on besides drama and a little romance, basically thats all, one moment is romance and romantic talk about how fate can unite 2 people the next moment is drama because... well just because...

ergo ipso facto lolcat, im gonna read something else today, you have been warned!!

Shadowlark Symphony (webcomic)

Today i decided to get up on my feet and start giving reviews agai, i hope this rush to do stuff lasts for long wnough to at least do it biweekly or something.

Now now, today we have in hands one of those promising webcomics, its has a ncie art, the story seems promising, but then again it gets updates every blue moon.

Shadowlark Symphony, is that sort of webcomic, i have read it twice now i think, once 1 year or so ago and twice today when i saw it and i said "oh well it must have some nice updates now", and twice today and i realized that well one year worth of updates was far too brief.

Now if i were the kind of person who gets upset about their favorite webcomics not updating i would definitly be spaming the author of this one until i was filtered just like viagra spam knows how, but then again thats just not me, i dont think an author would like that sort of fans, and i know best how negative influences make you just get away from any project you might be working on, also im too lazy to do that.

Now by this im not implying this is one of the greatest webcomics out there, its good yeah, not that good certainly, but it has a great deal of potential, a rather intriguing story, some interesting characters, good bases for a decent plot, some good art in a way that it eeriely remembers me the works of Fred Perry to some extend (or rather a couple of my personal favorite characters... yah im not biased ta all).

Well even tho i would live to give you all the spoils of a lifetime about this webcomic, theres just not enough in this one to actually be able to spoil at all, we have a couple of brothers, sister and brother, adopted so they dont look alike at all, apparently they work for an organization with a rather shady line of work a female characetr that will make you think of "Guilty Gear" (you will know who once you see her, ill leave that detail unspoiled).

The art:
Really good, it has basically all i ask as a minimun to a webcomic for me to be content, simple yet detailed work, a clean art, this meaning you wont see too much shadows or too much "art" done over a work.
Yeah, you must accept that theres a couple of works out there that make you feel like the artist is trying to brag on how much art he knows, i mean, its pretty and all, it means he/she/chocobo knows his stuff, but i would rather have something clean and attractive over too much work done in a single page (or more updates which is the one thing this one lacks).

The plot:
As i said before, it looks promising, theres a couple of things that let you know the plot will be a good one, first the main characters introduce themselves not by endless chatting about how they are and what they do, but this happens slowly and in a natural way it will take some time to actually get to know your heroes, second, you dont have 2-dimensional villains, rather you will see them as antagonist rather than actually "bad guys" and you will also get to know them a little bit and why they do what they do, despise the fact that everyone loves to have a villain to hate, a good villain is one who can actually get fans.

The characters:
So far i have seen very few characters but i had gotten to the point where i kinda like them in a certain way, the brothers, Psyte and Eve, have just about the right type of a relationship a couple of brothers would have regardless of age, both of them will be your main focus.

Even tho at some point, the one i asume will be the third main character, Sakura Kusanagi (i must say her name is so thrilled it kinda irks me), she appears as the tough character and well she does this fine, strong, smart, wise to some extend, well you will get to like her in a way.

The weakness:
No updates!, the file has been cold since sept 09, i thought it was just slow updates but shen i saw the date of the last update i went nuts, i would really love to see more of this webcomic.

Now you have it, a fine work out there with no advances tho, makes for a nice readying and maybe if your a dungeon master a couple nice of ideas.

El endgame redone.

For all those FFXI players that are wondering what i might be talking about, ill just start with the statement, we got too many freacking endgame options nowdays.

Well i know its not a new subject to talk about, but if you are like me, retired from endgame you might suddenly realize that you want it or not you are in fact doing some endgame and maybe not even realizing it.

Well lets put in for starters what endgame means, i wont look into wiki for this, no that would be just far too convenient and it would just plain kill this buzz i have to rant about something today.

Basically in any MMORPG, theres a point where your character "cant" grow stronger by just leveling up as you just reached the known limits of the human/troll/elf/mithra/galka/lolcat body, so whats next for any career adventurer is to go kill the meanest, toughest, most vicious looking monsters in order to get equipment of epic proportions, pfft yeah we wish.

That was to put it in some nice speech, but basically endgame is just a hook we get since MMO's dont have a "game end" (except puppetmaster in ffxi, if you get 75 on it, you get the true game end screen in ffxi!), well we get a series of LOOONG quests and missions or events in order to obtain new items, well its true that most of those items have really nice stats, or worst cases they have so so stats but they look too dam good.

Say whatever you want but this is one of the most eye catching armors we got in FFXI... *sigh* yeah i know...

Anyway, in order to get this shiny new armor, you only need to get a group of high level crafters for not only crafting the basic armor, but you need to get the craft of the crafted item crafted by a synergy crafter... crafting in a crafted tree...

well besides the point you need everysingle button and thread out of this armor crafted by an stranger, you need pieces from several NM's in order to get it done, and mind me, not easy NM's but rather new level 80 or so nms, you know, the sort that "only", require 12 or more people to kill them, you would be surprised how often people say this lightly "ah dont worry it only needs 14+ people to kill it with not sweat over it".

Well we have a miriad of other small events and not so small events, nyzul isle, assaults, salvage, einherjar, ZNMs, SNMs and what not, basically for every new expansion we have gotten since CoP we have got 2 or 3 new endgame options.

No dont let yourself be fooled, it doesnt matter if they are not 4-5 hours in a row events like sky used to be, you will still grind for the items, prequests, quests and you might spend an entire week just to get a dire rat's tail in order to face a NM for a 5% drop chance of the item you have always wanted, yeah, not 4-5 hours like sky anymore at all.

The funny thing is that im still wondering when did this happen? was it a really slow and convenient transformation or were we offered this many endgames at some point and i missed it, personally i like to think its the first option, tho i must agree that the second sounds much more like myself, but lets not bother on those little details.

Now, i dont know if it might be your cases, but you could very well end up in a social ls, dedicated to do some missions and stuff on a regular basis, dont be tricked your actually doing endgame, we all are, we like it or not... lets just figure out a way to start liking it ok?...

Birthday inc!

Well for those who might not know, my bday is in febraury, if you didnt know, dont be alarmed, i honestly dont like to tell my bday, not only cause it makes me feel old but well, i think a bday tends to put a lot of preassure on you.

Its way too cliched to even explain it deeply, but in just about every tvshow, whenever is the bday of someone they either throw a bigbutt party and have funny adventures or, they linger around and just get emo about how old they are and just how they havent done what they wanted to do with their lives.

Well for me, its definitly not option A since i dont like big parties, nor lots of people gather together honestly... (nor my family...).

The thing is that well i definitly go and think what i have done with my life and the worrysome part is that despite how little i have done and how very little of what i always wanted to do i have done, well i dont really worry too much about it, which might seem weird but then again thats just not me, i honestly think i might get it done soon.

As much as i would like to say that i dont fret too much about age and when i do stuff, i really do, i wont say that time is after you and you should make the bet of it, if i think back in my life i think the decitions i would regret would be the sort of "i should had gone to that party", "i should had sit and read more books", maybe i have the mind of a granfather?

Anyway, as much as time passes im just mroe confident that someday ill make use of my time in a much more efficient manner lol, and by that i mean ill get to us ethe most time posible for my own hobbies, i mean the webcomic and mangas in the internet wont read themselves!

Genshiken (manga)

Well this is an interesting one i got recomended by my friend el Aqui, hes got a nice taste for manga and anime, and he will also tease me because apparently there are great mangas (just like "full metal panic" manga which seems to be awesome and ongoing against the weak anime it had) in korean and chinese, so yeah, apparently im missing a great amount of nice mangas in chinese, so not only im studying japanese in order to read more mangas but now i also have the feeling i should study chinese as well.

Now back to bussiness, Genshiken is a manga just out of the ordinary, and no its no fantasy at all, its based on the adventures of a group of college japanese otakus, the whole thing is kinda funny i must say even with the fact that the whole work is just about nothing.

Yeah i said it, the whole manga is just abot the lives of the members of the club and basically how they lead their lives from the otaku point of view, this would seem rather normal if it werent for the not so well known fact that apparently japanese otakus are way too hardcore in this, readying the manga i noticed this was based on actual lifestyles of japanese otakus and it makes any american otaku just a silly boy who knows some japanese and has watched inuyasha and dragon ball, no offense but when you see them waiting 15 hours in line in order to buy not original stuff but rather doujinshies of their favorite animes, well... dam!

Now the actual manga makes reference to porn a lot of times but i think in the whole work i managed to see 3 panty shots and that was about it, not vulgar at all, not porn at all in fact, and im sorta glad it was that way, it gave me much more of what i was expecting.

The art:
The art for this one is very rich, very detailed and a very nice work of shadows, the backgrounds are worked very nicely, and even tho i usually just dont pay enough attention to the backgrounds i can tell when the artist is good at it, and this is a fine case of that, tho there were points in which the characters were turn into an anime'ized version of itself in order to bring a joke or a pun, it was not "too" overused, I despise "Teen titans" for trying to pull that to the extreme in order to get the eye of a younger audiente, but this was not the case, it was rather used in order to stablish a diferent mood than the one set before the moment it was done, (wow! Technical!!) but it was well used and made me laugh which i think it just prooves it was well used.

The plot:
Theres none!, well you follow their adventures and perhaps it gives the illusion theres no plot at all but the whole work was sort of a trip to invite the reader to enter the life of several hardcore otakus, from the point where they make "field trips" to doujinshies conventions (imagine "fanzines" if you will, of porn nature) and on top of that spend up to 90000 yens on said trip (thats close to 900 dollars on porn!), to the point of making their own doujinshi to sell it in a convention (with lots of side cosplay as well).

The characters:
The characters in this manga are well defined, (i like more everyday i get to say that, sounds so fancy and all) well with this i mean that the personalities of each character has been well thought and designed and with that you get some rather interesting interactions with each character, i really like when this happens because it means there will be more "naturality" in their interactions, art imitating life if you will.

There are serveral characters in this manga, each one has their own diferent aspect of an otaku, the hardcore Otaku who spends his living expenses on anime/manga/porn stuff, the hardcore cosplay fan who is a master sewer in order to create perfect creations, the gamer type, and even the closed otaku (the serie has 2 and i really liked them both).

The weakness.
I think this one is almost a flawless work, i would complain about the quick ending, but then again, its composed of 55 chapters each one with close to 26 pages, so i kinda burned this serie composed by 1430 pages in just one week... so saying it was shirt is just a way of saying "i liked it so much that i couldnt stop readying it"...
so its more like the ending was coming on a normal pace and i just passed by flying at match 2...

The World God Only Knows (manga)

Well as of late i have been readying some mangas and watching some animes recomended to me by some of my online friends, but then again today i decided to go on with one of my favorite mangas.

The World God Only Knows, it probably has one fo the most intriguing names out there as well as maybe one of the most "unique" stories out there to be.

Basically our main character would be a high school student named Katsuragi Keima, this boy just happens to be known online as the "capturing god" due to his record on "date games", maybe you have played one or two of them, since they happen to be more popular in japan than anywhere else.

Just to put in the record that i did explain what the pudin is a date game, well basically in those games you take the role of the main character and your goal is to make the girl(s) in the game fall in love with you (depending on the game itself this can be just romantic or lead to more mature results), so yeah, basically, is sorta a date simulator.

Well despise how weird this might sound to any person from the west (or just plain "not frmo japan"), this is sorta popular ni japan, and well its not that rare to actually see a manga about it, the weird thing in fact is that the manga managed to be actually good.

Now back to el manga, Keima, el online "capturing god" as you might imagine is sort of a freak in real life, his fellow students call him "otamegane" which sorta means "gamerfreak", but well the twist of the plot comes when his online fame is so big to the point his name reaches hell, yup, hell, the underworld, the inferno, el infierno or however you want to call it.

So going on, hell is just not like you imagine it, its actually a very nice place (still sorta gloomy tho), but well the whole idea is this: hell was overtaken by a new kind of demons than we know they are actually nice (most of them), all the original demons were sealed away somewhere in "new hell" (yeah they renamed it with great originality), but then again some of the original demon's spirit somehow managed to escape to the human world, the spirits cant interact with the human world at all, but they can nest in the gaps in human hearts, and they do this in order to be reborn as the first born of said person (so yeah they nest in girls hearts).

Well this is where the things get interesting, hes forced to capture the runaway spirits, this due to his online fame as the "capturing god", this because one way to capture the spirits is to make the "host girls" fall in love so theres no gap in their hearts ergo, no room for the runaway spirits to be in.

The art:
The art for this manga is pretty good, i would say above the average on mangas you might find, since the nature of the manga is romance rather than hechi (erotic), its eye catching that for sure but without looking too overworked, rather simple and enjoyable, a nice work on the backgrounds making all just look somehow "natural" instead of exagerated at all.

The Plot:
After spending so much time explaining the basic premises of the plot, well im afraid its quite simple, its just easier to get the plot as you read the manga rather than hearing it, i liked this one cause its a really "light" one, not too complex and you can sit and enjoy the comedy side of this one, i really think all the caracters that come into play are exagerations of stereotypes you might find out there but then again, who isnt?.

To cut it short, is not too complicated, and then again is steadily following one path that is leading to what seems will lead to the climax of the serie, an ongoing work so you might need to be following up weekly (if we get the scanlations that fast).

The characters:
Well since this is a harem type serie, the main corncer are the characters and im very happy to say they dont fail at this, the characters are well defined and most of the time they dont go outside of their characater, i say "most" because as the capturing God, you will see Keima doing stuff rather out of his character and even thought he will be complaining later on, since he has to act it all up in order to make the girls fall in love is kinda hard to say if hes going out of character because he needs to or hes just going out of character in order to make everything funnier, well you might be better at defining this than me.

The weakness:
Firstly, we get slooow updates, im not sure if this is due to the manga itself or the wrk of the scanlators (im very grateful to them and their work, but i cant help myself to want faster updates lol).

Secondly, the way the plot is developing is rather slow, from the looks of it and also as a harem manga we all know there will be one main "romance" if you would, but then again the way its going, it could be just anyone, the way the story is developing and with the current speed, well Keima could end up just with about any female character (well not his mother, thats just too much antinatura), and well my romantic side its getting far too impatient, i have my favorite girl in mind already but its going too slow >

Dungeons and Denizens (webcomic)

Ok now we have some interesting webcomic at hands today (have you ever wonder why the heck do i talk as if i were a comentaris? i wonder that myself).

Dungeons and Denizens
This one is a quite unique webcomic based yet again on dungeons and dragons world, and kinda following the same ideals than "Goblins" this one is not based on the posible human/dwarf/elf/whatever heroes, no no no, we follow the much more interesting lives of the monsters that dwell in the dungeons.

So, in here we will be more or less following a minotaur called "Min" (ingenious isnt?), well hes more or less hired to work into a dungeon (creative!!), to be part of the staff thats suposed to be there when adventuring parties decide to come by and raid said dungeon, so basically their job is to protect the dungeon and profit from it by defeating the adventurers (or let themselves be defeated if the adventurers bribe them enough).

Now i can say this webcomic is quite good, is one of those webcomics that had me sitting in my chair from start to end, i think my party wipped a couple of times that day... but im not totally sure i didnt check after a while, i think they were fine.

Ok im making a new experiemnt here, ill try to start describing the webcomics main assets, this would be, the art, the plot, the characters and the weaknesses they have. Ill try to start doing this from now on as i feel that my reviews lack a somewhat "standart" if you would, in order to better describe what im readying (if you havent noticed by now my mind couldnt be more disperse).

The Art:
Well lets start from this point, *ehem* so yeah the art...
Dungeons and Denizens has quite an acceptable art done in it, i think the best way to describe this one would be "i dont have any complaints about it", its colorful, very well applied in fact, even as i read it i just say it brings just about the right setup for whats being set in the whole work.

About the lines and specifics of the art, well its very well done, i wont say thatits a masterpiece, but its art for a webcomic and for that purpose it might be just more than enough and in a good measure even.

Now maybe all this it would sound too weak, but then again i think of this one as perhaps a "must be" or rather an example some other webcomics should follow, its just not overdone, neither too simple or just too abstract (not ugly lol).

The Plot:
Simple and funny, we got a dungeon full of dark creatures trying to make a living by "dungeon lurking" rather than dungeon crawling that an adventurer would do, despise the simplicity of this, funny ensures and theres also another plot going on which is more likely to be the main plot but then again is being given to the reader in small pieces or rather, "as its happening" in the world set here.

Now another thing i would be pointing here is the lack of plotholes, im usually not great at finding them, then again im not very throught in this point, as im not much of a criticist but rather a person dedicated to appreciated whats being done somewhere, but i guess what i mean is that you wont find rather crazy plottwists such as it would be seen in a soap opera, you will be seeing plottwist yeah, but just not crazy or retarded at all, just about the right amount of weird.

The Characters:
Well this might be somewhat new for everyone who has been readyign weak webcomics before, but in here we have a handful of quite the interesting characters, most of the are our basic dark creatures, a minotaur, a lich, an orc, a twoheaded hellhound (or rather 2 since they are actually sisters), and everyone of them with a nice personality that makes the whole work much more interesting itself, i like what has been done here really, i really like the characters in here.

One thing to mention is that you find your characters of any comic/webcomic/manga/etc suddenly making choices or making statements it wouldnt be proper from them, well im very glad to say you wont find that here, all characters are very well developed and they have all a nice set personalitie and quirks along with it, one of my favorite characters in this one would be the hellhound sisters (yeah our 2 headed hellhound), Donna and Dianna, they have quite the interesting relationship, basically we have 2 lovely sisters that happen to have a crush on the same Orc (he isnt as delighted of this as I am unfortunately), and well since that point (or perhaps even before) they ahve quite the rivalrity, you will more oftne than not find an interesting assort of mean jokes devised for your twin sister who lives just on the other side of your shoulders.

The weakpoints:
Oh yeah i decided to go there on my reviews!, ill be telling you what i actually didnt like at all about the online works i see, and well it might not be easy but then agani if you are making a webcomic or i reviewed you before take it as good criticism and lets learn from that ok?.

Well as lots of good webcomics out there, the main flaw of this one would be the slow updates, i know everyone has a life and all, but really, at least 1 or 2 updates a week would be great, i end up checking this webcomic once or twice a week and so on for god knows how long until i forget and then suddenly theres updates.

Besides from that for this one i would say that everything else would be just not too bad if there was anything i would have to really complain at all.

Ok i know i have been MIA for a while now, but its for a good reason... i think...

Anyway as of late since i staretd writting this blog about webcomics, mangas and such, very few people have said that they actually spend some time readying it (as oposed to before the old "el mexiwhat?").

Now the funny thing is, despise the fact that very few of my friends claim that they actually bother the least readying my blog, still sort of everyone just keep telling me "hey you should watch/read this one".

So suddenly in one single week my list of webcomics/mangas/animes went up from just 3-4 to about one dozen.

Its kind of funny since usually people just tells me, "oh i just saw this very good anime/manga/whatever, but honestly i dont remember the name", yeah i know it sounds kinda lame but honestly for some reason i have kinda grew used to hear that.

Now as im trying to not involve online works or anime of any kind in my personal bucket list is kinda hard as i usually get a good laugh or two from what i find online (except 4chan, dont ever go to 4chan!).

Anyway, so i think ill be slowing down a little and just take my time to check out new series and ill give you reviews on my good ol personal favorites (and a big list of "dont go there").

2kinds (webcomic)

Ok dear readers (yay i have 2 followers yay!), furry (DUM DUM DUUUM).

Ok first dont panic, lets clear up the misconceptions there are behind this word, firstly, the word furry has been asociated with some kind of porn style, but it does not mean that, furry is a genre of... well, characters, any furry character is any anthropomorfic animal (yay i sounded smart!).

So basically to cut it short, a furry is and animal character with human-like characteristics.Here we have a fine example of a furry fan, a "furrysuiter" from Anthrocon

Well this genre has been associated with bad porn, and well... we wont discuss that here... I need to find how to give adult talks and put a fee on it first lol.

Ok, all this was to bring along what i consider a fine webcomic.

2kinds, is what can be considered a furry webcomic, In the basic plot of the webcomic we have 3 main races that live and try to get along together, the races are the humans, the Keidran, which is rather a categorizacion of human-like animals (furries lol) which can be wolves, fox, tigers, cats and just a plentyful of other more and finally the Basitin another furry race if you will, which is historically separated from the other 2 races.

This webcomic caught my attention for the first time when i was looking for smoething with romance to read, the whole work follows this from start to everyday update, but not on the ammount that will make you sick of it soon, but rather with comical ackward moments just in the right time and well, you should be better checking for yourself.

Ok the highlights of this webcomic are plenty and its one of my favorite for which i was really eager to do a review on it.

Firstly, the art is just one of my favorite, from the start you will see black and white pencil drawings and then soon it will start taking colors (in more than one sense), the current updates are really well done, showing great drawing skills, you might criticize me because compared to some others might be too simple, but then again i think its simple, clean, colorful and yet again it just brings about the right idea of what the author is trying for us to see.

The plot is one of the most hooking i have found so far, despise the fact that i love my webcomics to have a handful of emotions mixed together this one has somehow managed to do it constantly, it has a niec mix of mistery, romance, drama (im very picky about drama and even so i like the amount here) action and whatnot, all this going along with a very well set up plot and a very nice story.

The characters involved in the webcomic are several and i must say i have my favorites among them (and maybe most of them for all the wrong reasons heh), from former knights, to ex-slaves, assassins and just about every character will somehow charm you in their own way, with their unique own personalities.

Well theres much to say, but as i try everyday not trying to reveal all the plot and just highlighting the most important pieces of a webcomic, i have yet again said nothing about another webcomic (yay!!), but then again ill just say it, this is a good webcomic, even a good start to furry if you will, i havent mind that at any moment, but might be a nice start if you are willing to try others with heavier content (like "21st century fox" or sabrina).

So this one has my official aprooval for you to read, now do read!! el Mexicat commands you!!.

Geminni (webcomic)

Its been a while now that i have slacked off and not done any review, but today i felt like doing more than one and maybe do it as well the next coming days as i have fell behind schedule and somehow i have still read a lot of mangas and webcomics and some are really good i must say.

Geminni, is a diferent webcomic and i would rather sugest not oepning at work, it has nothing just too mature, but i would classify it as PG13 lol.

Now what is there to say about this webcomic to make it worth checking?, well for starters, the art is nice, is not too complicated like we would see on other works like "Guilded ages" but the last few updates are really good, in this work you can notice a lot of improovement from the artist.

It has a somewhat "slow" start as lots of webcomics do, about the plot... well basically we have a single mother who takes care of her 2 kids (one daughter of her own and his step-son), while dealing with "everyday"(?) stuff that happens to hot-anime-loving-single-mothers, acomplanied by her best friend who runs a sexshop and her son (a little charming perverted kid i must say).

Well ill leave the rest of the plot for you to read up, but i must say that this one webcomic has catched my interest from several outtakes, one of them is the art, i love to read works that become better with time and this is one of them, and the creator for this one has taken some time to think up on the personalities and characteristics of each one of the characters in here.

Heck i must say i was quite surprized at some point i was being very empathical with one of the characters from the webcomic due to some family similarities between them and me, it was quite fun lol.

Oh a fair warning, in this webcomic you will find a really open mentality to sexuality and other religions, im all cool with that and it was really appealing to me to see this work that point of view regarding such "touchy" subjects on nowday's life, if you are very stricks about sexuality, morality, religion... well... internet is just not for you heh... on the other hand if you are open minded well this is quite a refreshing webcomic to read.

Ok so el Mexicat recomend this one, i eprsonally read this one everyday looking for updates, so you may go no and read!!... do it damnit!!

El Bucket List

Well maybe no one of you is familiar with this movie with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, but if you are you might as well know whats this about.

Basically in the movie "The bucket list", we have the 2 main actors as just plainly 2 terminal patients in a hospital, just one of them is apparently a walking wikipedia (Morgan Freeman) and the other one is obcenely rich (Jack Nicholson), so after talking and befriending somehow they decide they should take on a Bucket list.

Now after plainly explaining the plot without ruining the movie or even given the slightlest idea of wtf is that movie about, ill go on with the bucket thingy.

Basically a Bucket list is a list of things you want to do in life before you... well... kick the bucket... die, mueras, the reaper comes to greet you w/e.

Now this might seem like a really gloomy thing to be talking about but as of late this has been a very "popular" ground of small talk with me and my friends, mostly cause apparently we get the feeling the world could actually end in the 2012.

No we are not that superstitious, we werent in our basements (if only we had *sigh*) while waiting for the 2000, or other doom-filled dates, we are actually convinced that we all might survive that date, we just find it middly funny that is the last chance for the whole pack of world-ending theories to actually kick in, and this one has like 3 diferent sources that agree on the aprox date and whatever.

However the case is, we end up talking about, what we would like to do before "kicking the bucket".

And maybe its just too dark of a subject but then again this might be a chance to just not sit around living good ol life just like i did yesterday (like "we" did, i know you read some the of the comics i recomend you, i saw you sitting there the day before yesterday as well!), so i decided to just start brainstorming all by myself or even with some of my friends and find something i would like to do in this life or at least before the 2012/21/12 comes with a meteorite, the 3rd coming, ragnarok, find del mundo, or ricky rolls for everyone.

Now this is something interesting, a list of things i would like to do before 2013, that gives me 2 full years to do some of the stuff i might feel i always wanted to do, either because i was too scared before, i was too young or maybe just because im just too much of a cheapstake.

So lets see... im thinking in a few of them right now and those would be:

Learn Japanese (finally), i have been trying to nail this one for years but im too much of an incontinuos on this one, i think now that i finished college might as well learn it at last.

Ride a Motorcicle, i have been a fan of motorcicles since ever i can remember, but somehow getting to do this one has always eluded me.

Climb a Mountain, Im not talking about silly joggin on a nice side of a mountain or hiking, no, im talking about grabbing some ropes, getting some friends together and nail a 90º side of the mountain and climb it, tho i have never done climbing before but on those walls for fun, so i geuss this one will take time to get done.

Ride the meanest fair ride/game ever, in my city every october we get this "county fair" if you would, and every year we get scarier mechanic games, no we dont get new roller coasters, but last year we got this mean looking machine.

If your mind just plain denies what this is, basically this is a huge human Slingshooter, yeah you sit on those nice confy seats (of doom!!!) and then they shoot you to the air thanks to those bungie-like ropes, quite the awesome ride.

Travel somehere in america, thanks to living in mexico and getting along so well with americans i have several friends in the states (and for some weird reason most of them live in Cali), so i would love to travel to california or some other state and perhaps pay a visit, have fun, just meet more people that i... well... already know lol.

well for now thats all i can think of, then again i think im kinda slowing myself down cause i as i said myself "its gotta be something i can afford", so im kinda taking off the list crazy stuff like "travel all over the world" or other crazy stuff like that (i would mention parachute jumping but i think i should go babysteps on this first).

Another Videogame Webcomic

Now im on a streak i think about webcomics now.

Another Videogame Webcomic, well besides having a self explanatoire tittle which renders most of the sweet explanation i give about titles, it is fun, yeah thats right i said it, this is a fun webcomic about videogames.

Now dont take me wrong, theres several webcomics about videogames that are fun, and lost of you people do read them but then, again maybe we should stop and think, are they really fun?, or are they kinda like Penny arcade than despise being a monster in the industry and a well renown legend, most of their jokes require you knowing alot about a game they might be talking about, a lot more about the game industry and about how everything is going planned and what kind of bread does Shigeru Miyamoto ask for his sammiches... so yeah... once i finally finish readying a whole thesis about the videogame industry i can laugh about your jokes...

Now this webcomic is particulary witty, 4 panel jokes most of the time, about all kinds of new games since the webcomic is new itself, this work comes from the one in charge of "Joe loves crappy movies" so you will find nothing more than irony and fun.

The whole "plot" if theres one at all is basically a company that takes charge in "making" games by having actors take no the place of your favorite game characters, and then from that point of view you get the jokes of the games, this is by far the most interesting approach i have gotten for a videogame joke ever (not taking into account webcomics such as 8bit theater, RPG world or the like, for in this case its not the characters but rather people working to "develop" the game).

The art is nice as the works we will find in "Pimp online" (its the name of the domain i swear!), and its all nice yeah, but i like more the substance we can find in here, i really liked the jokes in here and enjoy readying them again even.

So all in all, i recommend taking a small peek to this particular work and see if you like it, its an ongoing work so you wll find updates at least every week. With all that said, you may go and read now!

"Guilded Age" (webcomic)

Its a safe bet to say that when you are surfing the internet you will find LOTs of crap, senseless, clueless, rude and even in some cases just plain disturbing crap out there.

Now, thanks the maker, also every once in a while you might actualyl find some piece of work that will make you want to keep looking around and see if theres just more to see (at this point im not sure if im talking about the real world or the internet... it doesnt really matter anyway!), and today my folks (it does sound pretty fancy when i say it that way) i bring you this webcomic.

Guilded Age (insert trumpets and drums or something along please).

Well the title lacks some passion thats a given, but this one is a little jewel if i might say so, the work is pretty new, this one started on sept 4th in the 2009, not even a year compared to most webcomics im checking here most of the time, but oh boy, this one does have potential.

The whole work is based on a fantasy realm, this means, monsters dragons, dwarves, elves, kobolds and whatnot, for me, personaly this is a big plus, then again its always just nice to clear things up about this.

Everyone who has read my reviews before (if there has been at least one person i mean), must think i love simplistic and clean art, well not really, it has its appeal specially in comparison to certain rather grotesque works you might end up seeing, but as for Guilded age, im still looking for a link to just send an email saying "awesome work!"

So retaking my little strips of conversation, the art is really impressive, the details, the color, the vivicity of each character is just incredible.

Now this does not come alone with pretty looks, the plot unfolds in a rather weird way, sort that reminds me of movies like "Memento", to put it plain, instead of getting the story from the begining you will be seeing pieces of the adventure not even in chronological order but rather in a way that will allow several adventures unfold infront of you, maybe not the best for a tale, or some detailed get to know of all the characters, but then again, it was really interesting.

So just summint it up all, cool art, a really good character development, ongoing promising work, funny as well, fantasy staged, ergo ipso facto lolcat, a must read!!, now go, el mexicat comands you!!.

Big Bang Theory

One of my closests friends just had his brithday today, we rented the big bang theory since he has never watched it and we keep telling him its one of the funniest programs ever released since friends (some might have a diferent word about this, but then again... this i my blog lol).

Basically i dont do reviews about tv shows but here i had an interesting thought, Big bang Theory is sort of a show like "Friends", "Seinfield", "Scrubs", "Lost", or "the Simpson", what do they have in comon?, well easy, if you find someone who hasnt seen any of those you need to gather some friends and do an intervention to have him see it (or all of them, if he/she/galka has been living in a whole on the surface of mars).

Today on of my closest friend had his 26th birthday, and what did we do? we got the "big bang theory" seasons 1 and 2, and had a very nice intervention with some chips, cookies, lots of booze and soda and made him watch first season until he was having a weird and particulary disturbing case of laugh-induced-astma, he will thank us all as soon as he can breath again...

If i were a better friend i would be patting his back to have him get air... then again my drink seems sooo lonely...

For this Serie i will have to mark it as a "Must see", if yuou are a fan of series such as "scrubs", "Seinfield", "Friends", "Mad about you" or just plain any soft comedy genre you will love this. Also by this point, some people will have in mind about the inherent "geeky" nature of all "Big Bang Theory" jokes, now now, dont be silly, you are readying a blog from a guy who lets you know which animes, mangas, games and series are hot, you are overqualified to understand any joke in this show by definition (im guilty as well, i just dont mind that much).

The plot, i will leave it to you, im just playing with words at this moment to make anyone wander whats this serie about, and maybe make more than one go check it out. The charcaters, fun enough, thats all theres to say really.

So lets resume this to wrap this whole review up so i can go back in front of my flat screen and continue with a laugh-a-ton.

Big Bang Theory: Plot-none and fun(yay!!), Characters: Weird enough and will most likely remind you of a friend(we know its you, lets just keep it a secret), Crew in charge of the whole project: None from the movie [·Rec], so you are same from nausea or feeling like you are watching a "blairs witch" ripoff (again), Must see it: YES, the mexicat comands you!, now go and watch it!!.

Spice and Wolf (anime & manga)

It was around this time last week when by chance i found a link to the anime of this series and i started seeing it, and i must say... it hasnt changed my life at all lol, but then again its interesting.

Spice and Wolf, is a small serie, 13 anime chapters, a few chapters in manga (heh, i was excited about readying the manga, but seems like the manga scanlations are taking longer to be released than the anime) as well and a second season in anime (which im currently watching).

Ok the plot for this one is interesting, a travelling merchant crosses paths with the *gets some air* wolf harvest goddess of a pagan town, and somehow he gets into an agreement to take her back to her home town.

Now, before you start getting all excited about this and the endless posibilities, i will repeat, this is one of the most unique stories i have yet to see, the whole thing goes around the merchant guy "Lawrence" and basically i would say this is close to being one of those "sports series" that get you hooked up with any sport, just in this case is about being a merchant... in the XIV century... so yeah its kinda weird watching it.

Now one point that really shines about this series is the character development, as you read/watch the series you will notice our merchant "Lawrence", he is not in fact a weak character like you'd find in some romance animes, hes actually strongwilled and knows how to turn things to his favor, as for our little wolf goddess "Horo", well shes basically a wolf, sly, proud, a little stubborn, and well, the more you see it for yourself the better you'd understand this, i was really impressed by how they could make one character fit so well into the personality of a wolf (or maybe its just me?), but really, most of the time you will see their conversations and you will realize Horo is just having fun outwitting Lawrence or just plain teasing him.

So as for this one, its all up to you, i suggest checkign the first chapter, if it just bores you to dead, well stop and go read something else, but if it gave you some rather ackward interest into the series well, i would suggest goig on ahead, the second season in anime is at least very good, maybe im just weird, but theres something fun about a wolf outwitting a man for me lol.

El "monster Hunter Orage" (manga

Well maybe some of you have already read this one, for those who dont and have no idea what a monster hunter is, well shame on you!

Monster Hunter Orage, is a manga drawn by Mashira Hiro, creator of Monster Soul, Fairy Tail and Rave Master, tho if you have read some of his works you will notice a few things that are very similar which i find quite funny.

Now i must point that being asked to draw this manga must have been a real honor, because in all Asia, monster hunter is "sort of a big deal", just one of the biggest franchises Capcom has, in asian its not uncommon to find kids playing with their psp's in the streets or the subway playing monster hunter (so far it does sound like pokemon, just wait a little it gets better).

Well basically the whole thing about the game is that you are a hunter, no, not a pokemon master ugh, you are a hunter and your duty is to go kill stuff because someone is paying you insane amounts of money for smoe monster dead.

Now monster is a little bit off, as a monster hunter you eill usually find, flying wyverns, high-speed water spitting wyverns, dragons, ancient dragons, ancient beasts said to bring destruction to this world just with the bat of a wing, and well stuff like that, fun isnt?.

Ill leave the playing the game to you all, its quite a good one, specially if you can find friends to play it along (me and my friends have close to 500+ hours of game each one of us in the game).

The manga depicts a story of a young hunter who travels in look for the legendary dragon El Miogaruna!!(DUM DUM DUUUM), and while doing so forming a powerful group of allies to take it down, the whole plot revolves around this dragon basically, but all the joy comes from watching the efarsome monsters they have to face till they cna reach their final destination (or any information regarding the location of the dragon itself), for this he himself is what they call a "forbidden hunter" (kickass name uh?), besides having an awesome tittle this grants him access to any hunting area he desires to go in order to find the elusive dragon of destiny el Miogaruna!! (DUM DUM DUUUM).

If you are a fan of the game i highly suggest you checking on this manga or i would say the same if you are a fan of Mashima Hiro, either way, checking the manga and the game is a good idea on both cases, im a fan of the two, tho it might not be of the likes of everyone, tho starting with the manga is a nice start to get an idea of how you actually play the game (since the manga itself follows very faithfully the mechanics of the game).

As usual, the draw is very rich even tho its a black and white work, the details are very good, for the fans of the series they will surely enjoy watching fights against known monsters or even certain references if anyone ever managed to play the "only asian" version of the game that can be played online (thats right this game has its own MMO).

All in all, a very good piece of work to read, tho i would complain by the shortness of it, it is still something good to read, specially if you are a fan either of monster hunter or the mangaka Mashima Hiro.

So go on a read!!.

El "Blip" (webcomic)

Now, the webcomic "Blip", its quite an interesting finding i must say, im not even sure i have seen it registered in webcomicz.com or thecomic list, but anyway, its good.

Now maybe you might be fans of great drawings and kickbutt art, well im afraid you might have noticed i have more simplistic likes, but i promise ill give you some of the shiney ones soon, as for this one, its interesting...

Thats basically all it could be said about the webcomic, it has quite the slow start and barely no laughs from it to be honest, but as the plot goes on, you might find yourself wondering what will happen next. Now thats what i think it makes a good webcomic.

Now about the plot... well its really confusing to explain what happens really, its sorta about the normal lives of 4 "young girls" and just what happens on their lives, well i wish it would be that way, but its more or less focused mainly on the "human" girl, thats right i said it, theres not only humans in the plot, its really interesting honest.

Basically from the 4 young girls, 1 is a witch whos working on a thesis for her PHD and her parents are nagging her with marriage (i dont know whats the PHD about), we also got a vampire girl with just above her 500 years, she works in a copy shop because she wasnt willing to course university (i swear thats the most macabre twist i have read about vampires ever!), a cyborg girl that is a little younger than the vampire and i dont have any idea of what else she does besides throw parties every now and then, and the last but not the least important, a girl that apparently was born outside of god's plans, this is quite the interesting plot for me, to imagine a human being that was born and god wasnt expecting this to happen?, basically the whole comic revolves around this girl, if i tell you more i will really spoil you the webcomic, so if any of this has had any ring of interest in you, i suggest going ahead and take a lot, its an ongoing project with constant updates.

Well, for some (if someone even reads this at all lol), you might have noticed i have fallen behind a few days and well im kinda working on keeping up, but its really for a good reason, we all know pie is always a good reason!.

Anyway, ill just post about a couple of webcomics that i have been readying and that i think they are worth your time and might get you interested, really i think you will like them.

While you are in the internet and looking for something to read to pass your time, you might happen a weird variety of webcomics, today ill review on one of those "special" ones, and if you havent realized it yet, i only review comics that are worth mentioning, this is, webcomics that are in the darkest places of the internet... ok maybe not so in deep, those places are too dam weird, you honestly dont want to know whats inside of 4chan...

Anyway, my point basically is, ill either try to bring news about an interesting comic that has not much attention and its worth a look, or a really good one that is a bit more mainstream and im really hooked up with lol (yeah, ill be doing one about "Kenichi" soon).

Today i bring you this comic +EV, the name comes frmo positive expected value, in itself is sort of a poker joke, well all the comic is about poker jokes since thats our main character, a man who makes a livnig from playing poker, this is not too rare i must say, i actually know some people who do that, and i must mention that it requires you to be, great with numbers, great readying people, or a mixture of both (theres also the option of being a lucky person, but since i dont believe in that oh well).

In here we have pretty complex jokes, i swear i had to review the wiki often to check on a couple of them an more or less make sense of what was being said here, the art is below average but its not just as ugly to make someone flee from the site, it has its own charm in a way, but you might find some references too deep into poker as thats the main focus of the webcomic, so if you are a fan (preferably hardcore fan) of poker, i would suggest you this little work here.

Personally i would say most of the jokes are too obscure if you know naught of poker, probably not something you might want to read if you want some cheap/mindless laughs, but i must say it has its own value, charming if you will, i would praise the webcomic itself for the hardwork there is in each joke, but honestly, i dont know much about poker myself lol... Then again, readying this might awake a weird interest into playing poker... or watching 007 casino royale again...

Rosario + Vampire (manga)

Ok this is a manga you can find in any site for mangas, like mangafox or onemanga, Rosario + Vampire , might catch a few readers cause, well its abour vampires and the name is rather interesting (you might have clicked first in vampire knight thought, shame on you!!).

Well besides the interesting name, the manga is interesting on itself, created by Ikeda Akihisa, who is know for... well basically this is his one hit, but i must say that is rather good.

This is a comedy/romantic manga, or to cut it short, you will find yourself readyign something that might remind you of "love hina" a lil bit, just not too much which is good.

And whats new here that might make it work readying it? well besides the fact that Rosario + Vampire is much more fun than love Hina and lots of other harem mangas, in here we have a lil twist, firstly, we have our kinda cute yet worthless highschool student with a heart of gold (have you noticed its hard doing a harem manga without this kind of guy?), and well he fails so much that he ends up in the only highschool that accepts him, which happens being a super secret youkai academy to have monsters learn to live among humans, so yeah... he just doesnt get standart psychotic girls after him, he gets real monsters going on for his skin. (i must say tho, all the monsters after him are real cute monsters tho).

So basically, this manga is really fun, it has background for some interesting fights against monsters of all kinds, the art is good, and a real nice plus, if you go on readying the manga you will notice how the art starts developing to a even better one, by the start of "Rosario + Vampire II" you will realize its almost a brand new better art based on the first one.

The plot? well its a harem manga to cut it short, theres some fights in it, but explaining more about why or how would be giving up too many spoilers.

In the end, i really sugest you checking this manga if you like comedy, if you liked works like Love Hina, Mahou Sensei Negima!, Girls Saurus, Happy World or the like, well this might be a great one for you to look at.

Assassin's Creed 2 (game)

Ok, i played this game and since it happened with me with "Call of juarez", I decided that i wouldnt post anything about a game until i finished it so i could give everyone a realistic view of the game rather than my experiences with a demo or the annoying first 15 minutes of some RPG, lets face it, they are an awesome genre, but if you have played "Star Ocean: TLH" you know the cinematics can be 15-25 minutes long... its pretty, but thats all, theres no much to gaming into watching a movie. (unless theres catgirls involved!)

Okay, back to the game, i played the first one and if you read that post you might remember me calling it a "hate game", which is basically my opinion of AC1, loved the history, made me hate everysingle npc in there (which was plenty).

In contrast with that, i'll even dare to say that AC2 is a beautiful game, the game you move the character is awesome, more refined than the first game (and even tho you will find some quirks in the controls it might be mroe cause you'd expect to do it the same way you did in AC1 rather than the intuitive controls they managed to apply).

Ill try to say as much as i can about the game without giving you any spoilers (which im very tempted to give, the story is awesome!).

Firstly, dual hidden blades? genius! you will be able to perform assasinations that will make your hat flip (am i only one with a flipping hat? is this normal?), giving you a gun a few hundred years before the invention of it? sooo awesome, i was always trying to perform assassinations with this weapon, i gotta mention that i failed several missions cause i wasnt suposed to kill them that way but it was fun nonetheless.

The game now is filled with extra missions, remember those annoying flags in AC1? well now you get contracts, assassination contracts, so dam good. But, what for? well for the fun firstly (mainly cause the building climbing is much more fast and easy in this game), and second for the money, thats right, in this game you get money, this is because you gotta manage a villa, restore old buildings, buy paintings for it, set new shops in the small town or rather enhance the existing ones.

All that may be of my like cause i like micromanagement games to certain degree, but then again, what im really playing assassins creed is for the plot, if you are new to the series you may not know this, but we have only seen 2 games of a trilogy, in the first one the plot unfold in front of you and in this one you dwelve in deeper into it, and i must say its incredible, i sorta expected some of the stuff there to happen, but then again most of it still made my hat flip (really? does anyone else have a flipping hat problem, like me?).

The game is filled with little challenges for the gamer, specially if you want to see all the story for you to discover (as well as full with historical details on Italy), i recomend this game higly, and i guess ill be waiting eagerly for the third one to know just wtf is gonna happen now.

wow i managed to cover the game without giving spoilers!. Well now begone and rent/buy/hax this game or whatever but dont miss it, or you will regret it later.

Not so long ago (i think it was even this week) i amde a post in which i was talking about just how weird the RMT's tells started getting inside of FFXI, i might have exxagerated the whole deal a little.

Then again just about yesterday i got this tell while i was doing some MMM...

Sooo.... yeah... wtf?... when did we stop talking english (or rather when did RMT's start talking other languages besides chinese?).

Really whats wrong with them? i swear even if for some weird weird reason i were interested in buying gil from them, i wouldnt be able, i were to dare try to go to the webpage they are "promoting" here, i woudlnt be able, i have no idea which URL is here to check (not that i would go anyway), but honest im doing smoe inner battle in trying not to crack this one, just looking at it makes my head feel light.

Ok i have been readyiing this webcomic for the last few days and dying to finish it already so i could writte about it, and well heres what i got.

Ill start with the stuff i found the most remarkable, firstly, this webcomic started as anyother with just some 4 panel jokes about a comic artist (oh the irony), but as the plot (if there was ever some at the start) went a little bit dramatic, oh how do i miss those times...

This webcomic started just as any other webcomic back in 2k, silly punchlines and well just about crappy artwork, somewhere on the run, the start started developing and its quite charming if you want to see it from that side, i must say that the most recent updates are looking pretty good and has a nice b&w art going on.

But the thing it caught my attention the most is that you might actually find some mexican soap operas with less drama than this webcomic, drama in a webcomic is good, i mean, you need a little bit of everything in a good webcomic, but this one relies on drama for everything.

Theres a point long lost in this webcomic in which their characters started becoming either too paranoid or just plain socially-retarded for all intentions.

Basically if you start readying the webcomic you will realize theres some point in which, someone had sex with someone else YEARS ago, and when everyone finds out, its time to start yelling and throw a fit just because they seem to not know how to handle themselves, and just a few stripes after that, its time to over-talk it camly like rational people.

Ok i finally got that out of my system and im glad i finally caught up with this one (since its an old webcomic, been running since 2k), personally i dont think ill keep up on readying it anymore, for the "drama" i kinda like i need some more spice of irony, sarcasm, or just about another feeling into it besides drama really, and more background to all characters (or none if you just go for the laughs).
Personally I would prefer SMBC or Something Positive (if you wanna go "realistic") or Las lindas, Goblins, Twokinds, Megatokyo or Slightly damned (if you dont mind fantasy/furry), all of them, as far as im concerned they all are "drama" yet again they have a nice mix of other genres to offer in.

Yeah make no mistake, i do enjoy my share of drama in my webcomics, but then again theres just a line you must watch not to go over, you just dont want to be overdramatic with your works here, just like in life, theres just so much drama you can tolerate and just not get sick of it (im beyond this point by the way, so its not rare if you actually find this webcomic rather annoying)

The El "The Noob"

Ok for today we are seeing this webcomic, now for starters, since i think some of the webcomics that i have read and im readying can be kinda "red" or too "black" lol, ill just start by saying this:

This comic is work safe, family safe but requires adult supervision (i think ill just rate this webcomic PG-13).

Well This one comic can be pretty fun if you have ever played any MMO out there in the market, if you have played several well its much more fun.

Now in this webcomic we can see a parody of what happens in online games almost a joke about everyposible thing that can (and often does) go wrong with a Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMO if no one knew before, tsk tsk tsk, shame on you really).

This does involve jokes about pretty much everything Real Money Trading, bad Game masters, Gender Bender players (you need to play one MMO to sufer due to this people), scamers, Roleplayers and even "Cybering".

You can see all this following from the start to our ever noobie character Ohfort (if you read the comic, the name is a joke in itself).

Being honest about this webcomic, you really need some MMO experience in order to get most of the jokes, so i wouldnt suggest troubling yourselves over this one webcomic if you are not much of a fan of that particular game genre and well mostly cause most of the jokes you would see here would go unnoticed or would simply leave you in the dark.

Regarding other subjects like art or plot, well theres nothing too significant going on there, the art is simple and well not too atractive, about the plot, well its creative on its own way yet, you wont be too amazed by any situations that might happen (yet you might actualyl get lost a couple of time with whats going on).

All in all, its a so so webcomic, nothing too great not too bad, so go if you are curious i would say.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

Today i felt like writting about this webcomic, which i must say its pretty interesting if not challenging to read even, also the name is one of the most interestings i have seen, makes me wonder if they wanted to make some sort of pun comparing their webcomic with saturday morning cartoons, and they put cereal cause its a bizzare alternate view of our current lives (as in what we eat)... sounded pretty cool uh? its the alcohol talking, dont worry.

What i can say is that theres some dark and sometimes macabre sense of humor in this one, as i have said before to my friends, i have grown to like cartoons that actually make me laugh instead of follow a plot at all, this one would be a webcomic like that just... well more random and dark than normal.

I invite everyone to begin reading this webcomic or just push their "random" buttons since theres no plot or timeline to follow at all. Sometimes is just one panel, sometimes is more but theres always one dark, acidic joke that either reflects on life or is just pure random.

Zach Weiner, the author, also has several other works we can check from his links, one of the most interesting ones is the videos, or SMBC Theater, which reflects on everyone of their videos their unique sense of humor and ramdomness.

For all this, i must advice to go to the side under your own accord, its weird, the art is not impressive, all the work is poured onto the jokes and situations, mmm perhaps, go read a couple and then decide if to read more or leave.

As i was writting today one blog, it came to my attention that i forgot to writte something for xmas, it might have been cause from decembe 24 till 26 i was either asleep or drunk (tho there was a time when i managed to be both at the same time).

So here i am saying merry belated Xmas and i hope you also have a great new year, or if you are being negative and already thinking about the economy, well at least i hope you get into a really awesome party and drink worth of 3 people's share of booze, theres where the happiness comes from!, a nice party, friends to hang around with and a nice alcohol induced stupor.

Oh well as for next year i guess ill be readying even more webcomics (more since it seems i might be unemployed by the start of the year lol), and finish some sweet sweet games and well obviously rant about them all, its sorta my thing.

El Menage a 3

Greetings my readers! (reader?... me?...), now this week while i was surfing the web i found a link to a webcomic i hadnt checked in a while and i said "oh why not? after all, it should have updated (i often loose tracks of smoe webcomics if they dont update oftent enough for my likes... or whenever i get my harddriven erased due to virus... heh...).

Well, im gonna talk about, "Menage a 3", this one is a rather diferent webcomic than some you might have seen before, and where to start to explain this... well... mm... i know! lets start with the tittle, for those who are well known, you already went in anc checked this is not a pornographic webcomic (and you already had a disgust face cause the very first thing you will see some guy-on-guy action, heh).

"Menage a 3" comes from the french expression that basically translates into "threesome" yeah, sexually speaking, this is an interesting joke since the whole plot is about one geeky guy who ends up being roommates with 2 girls, yeah i know, the plot goes straight to one standart harem one, but well, this one has its own funny twists.

Now now, dont jump into the page yet, you might want to finish readyign about the whole comic first, one "important" thing i must add is that this work has a very unique "sexual freedom", i dont really mind it, after a while in the internet you just get used to this sort of stuff (also having an open mind helps).

really, i got nothing against it, but you will find a couple of guys making out more than most people would like to watch. (it goes along with the plot well i must say, if you read it for yourselves you will realize it).

All in all, this is a black and white webcomic, the art is simple yet good, well done and even appealing if you want to put it in "my own terms". As for the plot, well its funny enough to keep me entertained from start to end, also, its an ongoing webcomic so you can check for updates and follow the ongoing plot who happens to be going on nicely enough.

Cracking the RMT code

Maybe you have herad of this but a while ago Square Enix just listened to their players latest rant and they gave us a pretty nice option that allows /tell´s which content can be interpreted as a RMT intend to sell themselves.

Now that did sound pretty prefessional isnt?!, well basically in plain short words, SE gave us players the spam filter option for /tells (or whispers or PM´s depending on which game you are playing).

But then again, well RMT-s will always find a way to get them some money from anything, and what is their latest answer to this filter? well for starters we dont get anymore "want a bigger penis" /tells ingame... what do you mean you never got those?... it was only me then?... dam...

Besides the fact the name sound kinda like someone having a seixure now you have to decode it as well

This is a fine example of one tell i got just today, i usually dont pay attention but today was diferent cause i was waiting for my rep to arrive, and well, when i was trying to read the name i just went on and tried to read the rest and thats when i noticed it, seems like nowdays we get coded tells.

This actually makes me wonder, is this just the best thing to do?, i mean, i know they are going with their way and giving the spam tells we all hate so much, but now they also offer a challenge, the irony in this is that now in order to avoid the challenge ffxi poses to players in order to get money, the RMT´s offer us the challenge to decode their messages and buy them money.

It might not be rocket science, but hell , again if a player is lazy enough to not farm their own money...

All in all, i just can imagine myself like someone willing to buy online money (im a cheap cheap person you see), either that or i cant imagine myself grabbing a piece of paper and try to decode their "challenge"?, "game"? weird english?.

I dunno, you decide for yourselves.

Joe Loves crappy movies! (who doesnt?)

Ok for this comic i must say just one thing, i looooove it!.

Well maybe im exhagerating (as i do with just 90 percent of everything i do), but this is a fine comic if i must say, well im like totally biased here.

You see the tittle, well the webcomic is about basically parodies or funny comments about crappy movies, and well who doesnt love crappy movies, as Phil Chan, mentioned himself in the very first page of this webcomic (also i want to remark this is not the only webcomic hes responsible for and ill take some time to review the others later)

As for the webcomic Mr Phil has some nice art skills, its not something you would say its incredible or extraordinare, but its pretty good, simple enough, very well drawn, and you will always know who is the movie star hes refering too.

This is a compliment if no one knows, i rather have something simple and funny, than too complex in its own obscure references.

Anyway, Mr. Phil will give you a detailed review of the movies he has watched as well as a very cool webcomic about the same, which i like a lot, im a big fan of his work, well mostly the webcomic as thats my area of... work?... knowledge?... obsession?... yeah, i think its the right word... *sigh*

yet again, if you do enjoy movies, well more precicely crappy movies, you know those movies with our favorite stars, Nicolas Cage, Brad Pitt, Bruce Willies or even Leonidas! (hell if i know the real name of the actor), you will get a good laugh from this site, so go enjoy.

Ok i dont know about you readers (i dont even know if someone reads this, honestly im pretty sure i just like talking to myself), but i got a very big dorky side, well, then again we are in the internet, who doesnt really?.

This comic is a very interesting one, it is very simple regarding the art, in fact you can pretty much say the art in here is crap, i mean no offense Mr Rich Burlew, im a big fan actually.

But heres the deal, the art is not remarkable at all but it has substance (yay me!, i managed to use a fancy word!).

Ok lets set on the details, the webcomic´s artist is Mr Rich Burlew, the cast of characters is set inside a fantasy world such as in a dungeons and dragons game, well to be more precice, you follow the adventures of the heroes inside of a dungeons and dragons campaing.

If you had the luck and joy to participate in any campaing of D&D, you will find this webcomic as a very nice piece of work, well worked to an extend it can compete with several others even with his chosen "handicap" (regarding the art).

The plot is really good, the jokes go into several levels both in the manner of a D&D campaing and real life, i feel compelled to check on a daily basis for updates on this one (i know, i totally disregard the schedules the artist set, heh), as it makes me laugh most of the time with the wit on the jokes and a really good character development (which i think it might be an inside joke as well, such as to say he wanted his flat characters to not be 2 dimentional at all, heh).

Ok just to resume, if you like webcomics such as "goblins", "something positive", "looking for group", "geeks next door", "guilded age" or any other with references to roleplaying or any remote trace of "geekness" you are very welcome to go in and check it out.

El Monster Soul

Ok this is a very nice manga you can find at one manga.

This one has my praises despite the fact that is a very short one, it consists of 7 chapters each one around 50-60 pages so its not that small.

The artist for this one is Mashima Hiro, creator of several nice mangas you can watch online, maybe you havent heard of him but im pretty sure you have seen at least one of his jobs, the most popular are monster soul (im not sure if its popular but it should be!), Fairy Tail which has been gaining some popularity (which i read its about to get an anime version aired soon), Monster hunter Orage, this one just denotes how popular Mashima Hiro is in japan, Monster hunter is one of the hotest game series in asia by capcom, maybe you have ever had the chance of playing one of the versions we have gotten in america such as Monster hunter, muster hunter freedom, monster hunter freedom 2, monster hunter united (and personally im dying of excitement waiting for monetsr hunter Tri).

Well besides this, Monster Soul is a work with a very nice art, a very interesting realm where monsters and human exist and try as best as they can to co-habit, you follow the adventures of a group of 4 monsters, a frankestein, a Mummy, a Golem and a Diawolf.

Sounds cool and scary right?, well Mr. Mashima is more reknown for drawing curvy girls and cool characters (if you saw a little bit of Ravemaster you know what i mean), so dont expect to be scaried away by the monsters at all, rather wait for a good laugh and some fanservice moments whiting a light plot (this doesnt make it the least interesting tho!).

Now, why are you still doing here?, go read monster soul!! (ok you can stick around but no cookies for you!)

Well recently i got my hands on this game, and i must say that usually i try to finish a game before writting about it here, but then again...

Well my very first impression of this game was a strong one, and it was a pretty easy one to describe too, put it simple, it was: "Am I playing Devil may cry?".

Yeah basically, there was no moment i wasnt recalling moments with Dante fighting demons, this time is just a half angel half witch or so it seems, its completely diferent frmo half human half demon right?...

Well this one fights angels instead of demons...
mmm old remixed songs instead of remixed Rock...
shes half breed light/dark, dante is human/demon...
so... yeah... not alike at all...

well yeah, im still wnodering if i played another devil may cry, really, the game is awesome or so it seems so far, and then again all the time i couldnt think of anything else but that i was playing as a female version of Dante, which i must say is a really great improvement, instead of a shirtless guy killing demons, a foxy witch wearing a skintigh leather outfit (lets pretend its leather).

Ill post more about it once i play it more or finish it, but really, if you liked the devil may cry series, or you like sexy girls you might want to at least even check this game a little.

The El Call of Juarez!

Ok firts things first.

The title rocks.

Maybe its just a fancy name for any american player for any Latinamerican gamers this game's title is part of smoething bigger, well technically is just the mark of "spanish is spreading everywhere like wildfire, deal with it and enjoy the nice game title.

Now i know "Juarez" is just a mexican name, and if you played the game through it might not just be the best example to be proud for a mexican name to be in a game.

But this marks just something bigger, if you have been in the internet (which you have, dont play innocent with me, i saw that furry on the other tab... we all did...). But the thing is that you will find most likely some spanish words everywhere, some nice expresions from old who have started catching up like "mano a mano", "nada", to the extend of bleach and some other mangas where you just happen to hear awesome moves with names in spanish or you might even see a main character in the serie being from mexico (Chado, and well, he's technically secondary but hes there and hes cool).

Anyway, back to the game, it starts really slow, you will kill some "bad guy" withing the first 2 minutes of game but i mean its slow because most of the time you wont be able to see an enemy cause their clothings make them almost fuse with the enviroment, no its not camo gear taken directly from MGS, rather, all the game was created with just some dark yellow color palete tones and well that was it.

I had to go thru the game till i developed some sort of sixth sense and i finally could tell appart a rock from a southern militia on the defense of the game most of the time they were 20 feet away from me... smart of their side really.

Well the game has some nice graphics, and honestly i should just stop saying that of xbox games heh...

Well the game starts bad as i said before, but after a few missions you start getting the hang of it and its a really lovely game, i mean, theres just nothing like the feeling of getting involved into a gun showdown in a town like in this game (tho i must mention that i really hated this at the start and died like 15 times).

Maybe i should just stick to the good things of the game, but then again i just keep remembering the times i kept yelling at the screen and throwing dynamite to corpses...

All in all it was lots of fun, after the start you might actually really enjoy the game, hunting criminals, killing apachi, and blowing up the moogles out of any building on your way.

Hajime no Ippo (manga)

Well well, if by now you havent read this manga, then shame on you!.

This manga has gained some popularity in later years (yeah its OLD), and with due reason, its a fine manga, really addictive, tho the fact that its a "sports" manga, it is really nice i must say.

In this manga, you follow up Ippo, a boy who is son to a mother who takes care of a boating fishers bussiness, really i didnt know about this bussiness existed before i read this but well, seems like it does.

To cut all in short, hes bullied by the kids of the school and one day while returning home very bruised and all that, he caught a glimpse of a boxer doing some trackwork and well, i wont rob you of the pleasure of readying it, but he starts boxing (a spoiler, sue me, heh).

The manga is pretty good, it has it's share of comedy which makes it really good, and at somepoitns it becomes really intense, i was more than once unable to go sleep because i just had to finish some more chapters and finish a fight or two.

Somehow boxing becomes really interesting after readying the manga a little, the artist is well known on the techniques and all the proper talk, also if you read it by onemanga or mangafox you will find some more details from the translator crew which is really good filling in the "empty info" on certain words or details about the background of boxing.

All in all, i really suggest anyone readying this manga, even if you are not a fan of sports mangas this one is a little gem, i have heard theres an anime of the same, but i really prefer it drawn and on my computer, also this is an ongoing work, so you might have to check every week or two for a new chapter on the latest arc of the whole.

Girl Saurus

Well if you dont have the slightest idea of what im talking here, you might want to go read this manga... or maybe not, really this is one of a kind.

Ok, how to explain this manga?... oh yeah, its a harem manga with lots of fanservice... it was too simple... dam...

well but what is good about this manga besides the fanservice it offers (which is good really), well if you want to know why i put it here i think ill just go to the details of this one.

If you want to know why i stall so much for lines... well i done know myself, maybe i like readying myself (i do!)

Well, the thing is in this lil cute universe flooded with cute girls, the main character is a rather normal highschool student named Shingo, who just happens to have hinophobia. What is this you ask? easy!, phobia to women!, yeah thats right, its a harem manga with a main character who is afraid of girls, lovely.

But the thing doesnt end here, he got his phobia because one girl decided to confess her love to him, naked, but!, she just happens to be a 200 pounds little evil monster, which after the rejection (if you can take a scream instigated by pure fear) pumeled Shingo to death.

Well after getting the why hes got himself a fear of dead coming from women, we only have to explain that the same girl just becomes a totaly beauty after the rejection and along with a bunch of troublesome girls, they all fall for the same guys ¿yeah the poor guy with ginophobia heh?.

The art is nice, as i said, lots of nice fanservice, despite the weird plot, its a quite fun manga, its a complete serie so you can read it online in onemanga, and have a nice time, well its not shakespeare, its just to have a fun time which it acomplishes and personally i had to read this from start to end cause it was too much fun.

Naruto manga

Well as i promised im finally making this, now, many of you might know this anime and a few less should be readying the manga.

The manga is a very nice piece of work and i always enjoy readying mangas cause they are ahead of the anime by a few story arcs which is kinda nice, also you can find a few mangas that you know soon will become nice works in the anime.

Now down to bussiness, this manga just like the anime, is boooring.

Ok put down the torches and stakes... (where did you get those anyway?)

Dont get me wrong, if you just started watching the anime you might be saying im really out of my mind , but really, have you gone far into the chapters? the start is really good, and the second opening, "haruka kanata" by "kung fu generation" is just awesome, but then again just like the manga, as the history unfolds, the plot thickens and after just so many "gasp, no way!" well, it kinda gets boring, theres a point where im sure Masashi Kishimoto (the author/artist) wanted to give just too many plot twists and just kinda give it a "death note" flavor to the series, and well... it just didnt go.

Lets be honest here, the start was awesome beyond belief, i dont think i have read a better ninja-manga (if you had the misfortune of readying "shinobi life" you know what i mean).

But then again not everything is about good starts, it started going slow and dull at some point (i think it was after the "3 ninja's" fight arc.

Also, if you happen to watch the anime and read the manga (which means both you and me have no life... *sigh*) you might have noticed how each manga chapter suddenly started becoming also one anime chapter, which is unthinkable, that means just 15-30 paper pages become 20-25 minutes of an aired show.

On the bright side this means you get to watch (stare) at your favorite characters for more time (despite the fact they might be doing nothing on tv).

El webcomics and such

well some of you might have gotten onto them a few times, the internet is pretty vast and honestly i have enough time to spare (despite the fact i loooove reading them... has nothing to do really...).

I thought, heck im already rating old games i get my hands onto, why not some of the webcomic and mangas i read online, i mean, maybe it might help someone to find a decent one to read or might be of their liking or even if they happen to have the same sort of likes i do (heh, shame on you) they might find more interesting ones, so i will try to comment on webcomic i often read online or some i have read a little and stopped for some reason (some are just too overdramatic than my eprsonal likes).

Assassin's Creed

Ok Assassins Creed is a rfeally awesome game, ill give it a pluss for the fact it has an inovative name which makes me wonder "why no one ever came with this name before?".

Now back to the actual bussiness of the game, this is an old game i know this and must of you must have heard everything about ti already, well almost everything, theres just something you havent realized.

Assasssins creed is actually a "hate-game", what do i mean? easy, the game is designed to make you hate everything and everyone. Really, by the end of the game you will turn of your xbox, go out and then you will look with loath to the drunk people and beggers. (if you didnt already).

Despite the fact you are an incredible assassin and according to the plot, the most skilled one of the guild and whatnot, you will find that everysingle npc is out there to get you.

Crazy people with posible retardation? they are the most incredible assassin detectors, they will mesh with crowds and when you less expect you, they will attack you, and only you, which any guard nearby able to withness this will consider as a irrefutable warning that you are an assassin.

Drunken sailors? same deal, somehow they wont attack anyone, not soldiers, not beggars not their cheatting wives that left a whole in their hearts that they feel they must fill with alcohol. No, they will only aim for you, heck, they will go out of their way and even push people to the sides in order to push you and give the warning to any guard.

beggers? ugh, this is actually the very first "innocent" life i have wanted to take so much in the game, you feel more much hate for then when you realize you cant kill them and just leave with a grin on your face and feeling fussy inside. I think even other npc's agree with me, maybe this was the designers idea, whenever you push a begger, even if they hit a wall and faint from the pain, a guard would just turn around towards you and say "dont do that again" pay you no more attention and go with their way, i know that guard is always smiling towards you, giving you a thumbs up even, i can feel it.

One would believe you could steam off killing other Guards, well no, guards and soldiers are actually superhumans enhanced by the dark arts and weird game glitches. Your assassin is capable of 10 feet long jumps between rooftops?, pfft big deal, a guard that has just seen you and is chasing you, is capable of jumping a whole plaza in order to get you all superman like even if you get to see him in action.
Can you climb buildings in an awesome parkour way? big deal, guards can jump entire buildings with just one jump and catch you in no time.

and the ammount of soldiers and guards, i have played the game throughly and tried to kill my targets with "discretion" and even so i think i have killed worth of 1 small army and maybe i might be the reason why the holy land was taken by the templars (well actually just "templar", i think one escaped me of the 60 the game offered me to kill)

The game is good, thats a given, but i promise you, by the end of the game you will really want to start killing innocent and you know no one would plead you guilty in their hearts

El Dead space.

Ok besides all the gaming i do on ffxi, i do happen to have access to some other consoles and i might just as welll start spreading the "joy" i get from those.

Well if you had happen to play dead space, you know you dont get any joy from this game, unless you hate yourself or are a masochist.

No, dont get me wrong, its an awesome game, really great graphics, really good audio. The problems, is a too dam good terror game, one might think "isnt that actually a good thing?" well it would be, but this game just goes too pro on it.

The background sound in every single moment has you wondering when are you gonna be attacked, most fo the time you feel like you are a silly teenager who just happened to be walking towards a hut throught some dark woods near a creepy lake.

The lighting effects do wonders for this, lights going on and off, little coloration effects, dimming and whatnot, heck by the middle of the game you will be scared of your own shadow without a good reason.

All in all, this is a very good game, really, i did enjoy the game and im actually playing it throught again for the achievements and the cool armor you get from finishing the game, also looking for hiden stuff withint the game, its a nice extra that might get you with the game for a few more hours.

Today i had a nice family dinner with my extended family and all, it was fun an ertentaining (ok im just lying here), and then it happened, im still not sure what triggered or how it came into convo but then again it was in the air after a few seconds, and it will remain haunting me for the rest of my life.

Now, at this point i have to fully explain, not because i have the "House" syndrome and i want to be interesting or anything (if you dont get the joke shame on you!), it could be just explained more easily by saying that i have a speech inpediment that wont allow me to let go even of the simpliest things (see?)

The thing is, apparently a cousin of mine had just seen one of my very old friends from highschool, mind me, a very sexy female friend (and just about one of the greatest gals i have ever met in my life), apparently always had a thing going on for me.

Now this sounds about just cool for everyone right? well it is not, is just about one of the most awful things one person can tell you.

Honestly, because, what can someone do knowing this? the answer? nothing at all, just gloom about it and wonder how cool it would have been to date such a great person.

The funny thing is that apparently my family and friends keep doing this to me over the time, when i finally finished college one of my oldest friends asked me if i was one of the many people who dated, one of the hottest girls in our highschool.

Lets just say she had a really easy going personality and somewhat loose morals, im all ok with that, im not going to criticize that, really if i could just do that i would, but then again i just dont look that good on a bikini, lets just not go on over the whole waxing details on that, but yeah, she was "easygoing" type, im all ok with that, heck im pretty sure any guy at highschool is pretty much ok with that and would even cheer her.

Well the whole thing, is just on the same point, what can you do if you just got to know that you had a chance with a totaly beauty, 7 years ago? nothing, you can just weep and you pretty much know that that particular random piece of knowledge will haunt you for the rest of your life and you might even spurt on a total random moment asking yourself if it was true or someone was just BSin you and messing with your head.

Now that you know this, please save the whole painful experience to your friends, save yourself this info, or even better tell them on time, how hard is telling your friend that he has chances with that stunning beauty he cant help but to only drool about?.

I think thats just about the worst "gift" you can give someone, heck it sorta sounds like a time paradox stuff in my head, "here!!, with this you can save everyone you love from an awful dead, by going to the past and killing your mom before you were born", posible? no one chance in hell, will haunt you in your sleep for the rest of your life? we know which one isnt?

Sky was.. just wrong...

One funny thing of FFXI is thatyoualways expect the worse to happen, everyone does this... well ok not everyone, but really you should.

Most of all seasoned players know that jut about everything can go wrong, and some like me, honestly just expect it to just jump from behind any corner and have you a very nice and informal greeting... yeah...

Well i remember one night with my ls, and i had just started leading sky and the most bizzarre weird and unexpected thing happened.

When i mentioned this exact subject to some friends and we got to this point, everyone said exactly the same thing "your mama"... yeah thats right... ok ok, it was a surprizing sky but just not that much, seeing your mama at sky would be just plain disturbing...

Byakko would have a thing to say about that im pretty sure of it.

Anyway, i just wanted it to be clear that there were "your mom" jokes after i started depicting this small "tale" of sorts.

Well for everyone who i just happened to have with their breathsahold and on the bringk of your seatwithmy tales of sky, well.. it was fantastic...

Really it was so fantastic it was scary, honestly, everyone knows that in sky just plain everything can go wrong, even the most simple of things, heck, i remember once i had a member complaining he couldnt get to the spot we were at, 30 minutes of him getting the directions and complaining why wouldnt we get someone outside to grab him, guess who took the shortest straw that night?... yeah good guess... we had a random Galka do it... yah, im not kidding anyone, it was me... Anyway, after having this person complain for some time and constantly asking me why wouldnt we get someone to grab him cause he was so important for the sky farming and all that nice stuff great players always happen to be mentioning.

Well just about everyone knows how that didendso ill just finish here... yeah... not likely... So, the real ending is quite more formidable if you would like, we were fighting inside the first door under the stairs he was waiting very patiently for me...

Well a flawless sky is just plain disturbing, the richest spot in all the game, all alone, no competition, all good NM's up, the whole linkshell in time, no one getting lost, that one is really diturbing, personally im used to even veterans getting confused while going up for the big ones.

Even nowdays i still wonder if that was a real run at sky or its just some kind of recurent dream all endgame leaders have... i think it mght be the case... or at least i say that to myself when i go in for that extra beer to supress my endgame "traumas"... Dam, leading is hard...

Superstition

I think i have said this before, everyone in game just becomes really superstitious when it comes to drops, we all have heard of having someone said certain words before a run to give them luck, "sacrificial" players, this one is one of my favorites, mostly cause when any player dies in an event theres certain to be someone saying "sacrifice done!" and we all wonder whether he died by mistake or it was all a complot, it gets real fun messing with other people sometimes...

I dont have the slightest idea why this happens, everyone has seen a movie or even knows some crazy spot fan who wears old clothes and jumps or dresses with some really weird hat in order to "give" luck to their favorite team, we all roll our eyes and say "oh, i wont be part of that", and them boom!, we are in the middle of a dynamis secretly wishing for that Tarutaru to die so we have "better drops" during the run.

I really doubt we can change "luck" with any sort of thing we do, but even so we still do it, i havent dared to ask what my fellow linkshell members do for luck on runs, my bet is, i dont really want to know, im pretty sure im safer not knowing at all. But then again this means we are part of what we thought we would never be, i mean, we are not in front of a screen watching a game played by several people, while having drinks and chips and screaming at it right?... right?...

Well at least i can rest assured i wont be into that, cause you know, when my groups just sends our Tarutaru thief for the "initial sacrificial pull", we all know it does work with him...

Late night events

Well as every other player in FFXI once you get high enough you enter endgame, this is a joyful and very insightful experience in your life... yeah, not at all...

Endgame is one of the most troublesome facets of FFXI itself and then again everysingle player will do some in his game life once they hit level 75, its no sense lying, i know you have been there.

There will be plenty of complaining to do about endgame, yeah, its awesome like that, but ill just comment on one of the most troublesome details for myself (really, why bother on other people?). And this is, the time, endgame events usually require more than a couple hours, Einherjar being one of the fastest events due to the fact that its limited to onky 30 minutes, seems very promising but even so waiting for people (oh, so ever late people), can take up to 2 hours, yeah, not so nice on time anymore.

In my particular case i enjoy endgame with a late night linkshell, this due to rl events such as work and family sucking most of the daytime, leaving me free to do whatever i want almost at 10pm, so my options were either learn japanese and join their ranks, or joining a late night ls.

The group i join wasnt that bad, the real problem is they actually started late their events, so a run that would start at 11pm would really start at 12am and therefore end much later, so dynamis became really fun, for me, deprived of sleep, tanking endless hordes of vanguard armies and being nothing good on tv at 3am , well saying its draining to the mind and body is an understatement, and people wouldnt believe how much most rock songs sounds like a lullaby when you havent slept more than 10 hours in 1 week, at some point i had delusions about Vanguard quadavs trying to attack my fridge.

The worst part of this, is when you actualyl decide to stay up on your own, lke, i have this crazy friend, and he and me started a nyzul isle static, we both come from a long line of unsuccessful statics and groups that end up broking with no warning, but since we started doing runs together we kinda discovered that we had a 99% success rate going together, if you are new to the game or maybe you just dont like feeling like "following the herd" you might know that every single ffxi player is very superstitious, and such success percentage is something even the most non-superstitious players wouldnt mind having even if they had to jump on one leg while wearing their lucky socks i front of their monitors at 2am.

Yeah, i can still remember that night... or morning... or... well it was 4:30 am, it was barely time for the living to be up anyway, its just a "time of nobody" its not night, its not day, its just a time of dead and mistery where the spirits of japanese players dwell in ffxi with their funny text images and all. So, after a rough dynamis and being 3 am or so my friend comes to me and asks me.

Hey i got 4 tags for nyzul isle, wanna go and get some floors done?
...really?... its 3am... there got to be no other player who speaks english loged in anymore...
Its ok i will gather a group quickly and we will be over really quick ^^!

yeah, you know where this is going... it took him 1 hour and a half to get 4 more people to do the run...

So we started at 5 am a 2 hour event, by the start of the event i was wondering why was i still up and not sleeping, by the middle of it i think the reaper was waiting behind me, i think he was talking some giberish about which lotto numbers would win the next day, or maybe just the numbers to get to "the island", the tv might have been on or not, im not sure that loud static noise could have been just my brain dying by the minute.

I dont remember much after that, the next morning my friend told me we rocked the event really hard, i dont remember this, i dont even remember the last couple runs, or breakfast... or food... i think i wope up at work that day...

My boss is remaking the dress code rules nowdays...

into FFXI

Well i think everyone already knows what this game is about, if not, maybe you should reconsider why are you readying this blog, honestly i havent put naughty pics or something... yet.

Now why did i decide to make this blog? like most of the greatest inventions in the world i had 2 powerful reasons:

1) why the fudge not?
2) purely on a whim

tho those 2 reasons make only for one, ill just keep going and maybe someone might be still readying at this point... are you still there?... hello?...

Anyway, FFXI is a pretty expansive game, and im afraid to say that i devoit a lot of my free time (and sometimes some of my time in which im not free at all), so im thinking i might have lots of stuff to writte about, wel mostly stuff to complain about, complaining is sort of my thing... and if you have had any experience in ffxi you know theres plenty to complain about, yay!... yeah, fun for sure.

So, ffxi is a pretty cool game, it has lots of quests lots of weapons and lots of funny stuff to do, it sounds perfect right?... yeah you didnt buy that either right? the thing iwht all MMO´s is that you will be playing the game with hundreds and sometimes thousands of strangers, some will become your thrusty allies, some formidable rivals and most likely everyone in game will be a plain jerk and youll even find some persons who will make you doubt in your faith in humankind (that if you started with some before readying this).

Ok with that i think i just finished my villain monologue... no... im not evil... and no, this is not a laser... just dont mind my laser-er... toaster.. yeah... lets go with that.

Any ffxi player has kind memories about their first days at the game, i remember too well walking around a little too fearful on everycorner, well, i did happen to die a lot on my first days, i dont know everyone else but for me FFXI was the first game in which the same type of mob, with exactly the same name than his cousin at his side, would have a diferent level for each one, well yeha even today im slightly impressed on how the developers of ffxi just decided to make each creature a little diferent from his exact clones, and therefore, not knowing the /check command every single enemy was a dangerous and enigmatic little monster, a friend and dungeon master told me it was like sense motive, but i still dont know why would i want to know if a giant bee is tryng to bluff me...
Anyway it was this way for me for at least a couple of hours, i think i developed a nice and unhealthy level of paranoia by the last few enemies i was attacking until i finally wondered what the check command was for, needless to say i was relieved with this discovery, but then again this didnt make the whole work of leveling any easier, you might know the feeling very well, you see a tough monster and you wonder if you can beat it, you barely survive and then there comes in front of you, a very tough monster, after eating dust for some time and coming to accept that no one will ever give you a Raise in the middle of nowhere (thought that never stopped me from waiting almost 30 minutes for one sometimes) and just accept that i would have to go back to the closest town and walk again for endless minutes (dont let them lie to you, walking 5 minutes in an online game seems eternal) to go abck and get myself killed.

To every new player in ffxi there comes a time when then again we come to distrusth every monster we see, you all might now this fully well, the check command is a lie!.

After climbing a few levels every player might notice that the enemies that appeared as "decent challenge" are becoming rather hard to handle, and as soon as you hit level 10 you are very cautious of any "easy prey" that might caught you off guard, this is intended so every player decides to party together with more players and take on harder monsters for more experience, really a thief level 15 knows he cant go alone and he might die to the hands of any "easy prey" that catches him by surprize (this tragic history was the one from my very first job).

but then again yeah... heartwarming memories... i think my brain might have cencored most of those moments thought...
